\"isma\"LEE, N.H. — Top super-modified drivers from throughout the U.S. and Canada are in the field for the 14th<\/sup> annual Ollie Silva Memorial Classic this Friday night here at Lee USA Speedway, marking the only appearance this season of the International Super-Modified Association.<\/p>\n

Mike Lichty, the hottest super-mod driver on the ISMA circuit thus far, will be driving his 900-horsepower fuel-injected winged No. 84 as the pre-race favorite to beat. Towing in from the Toronto suburb of Innerkip, Ontario, Lichty has won major events this season at Oswego, N.Y., Stafford, Ct., Sandusky, Ohio, and is the defending ISMA point champion.<\/p>\n

Mark Sammut, another top Canadian driver and former Lee winner from London, Ont., is entered as is multi-time champion Lou Cicconi, Aston, Pa., driving the winged No. 71 super-mod for long-time car owner Vic Miller, of Plaistow, N.H. Miller also fields a team car for six-time ISMA champ Chris Perley of Rowley, Ma.<\/p>\n

Ben Seitz, the four-time Northeast Midget Association point champion from Bourne, Ma. is in the field with his new No. 17 winged super. Jon McKennedy, the two-time Valente Modified Series season champ from Chelmsford,\u00a0 <\/span>and Bobby Bond, the 2011 Oswego Classic champion from Mexico, N.Y., are other leading challengers.<\/p>\n

The Ollie Silva Memorial Classic is a 75-lap feature race with $35,000 up for grabs in prize money. Named for the legendary Hall-of-Fame super-modified star, Silva\u2019s career spanned from 1949 through 1981. He died at age 75 of cancer in 2004. The race annually is considered one of the most prestigious for super-modified fans and competitors alike.<\/p>\n

Silva\u2019s famous\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cBig O\u201d super-modified sprint car he drove to over 100 feature wins from Canada to Florida and Ohio to California will be on hand along with the Ollie Silva Museum, located in the main grandstand.<\/p>\n

A full program of NASCAR divisional racing, including small block super-modifieds, will be held along with the ISMA super-modifieds. Practice starts at 4 p.m. with the first qualifying heat at 6:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Free parking is available for cars in three lots as well as self-contained recreational vehicles in the rear of the main straightaway grandstands.<\/p>\n
