With the 2014 edition of the Oxford 250 lurking just over the horizon on July 20, 2014, the first entrant has filed his application for the crown jewel event. Buckfield, Maine\u2019s, Tim Brackett has filed the number one entry and is very proud to be the first entrant of this year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been in the sport of auto racing since 1978, the 52 year old racer explained. We love racing as a family here at the Track, and always look forward to the Oxford 250. We had a great run in 2013, and can\u2019t wait for the big race in 2014. I finished sixth last year, and can hopefully crack at least a top five this year!\u201d

\n Brackett has a pair of OPS championships under his belt, the 2005 Pro Stock title, and the 2010 Late Model championship, and has great family ties with Oxford, as his son TJ won the Pro Late Model championship in 2013, and finished 14th in last year\u2019s 250, while Tim placed second in the final standings, and Tim\u2019s daughter Vanna finished third in the standings, and also was the first female to win a premiere division feature at Oxford. The family also set a record for the first time a family finished one, two & three in the Track\u2019s premiere division\u2019s final point standings.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s edition of the Oxford 250 will take place on the July 17th to July 20th weekend. There will be a special night of racing on Thursday, July 17th, as the schedule for that day\u2019s events will be announced in the near future. Friday night will be Sun Journal Newspaper night featuring the PASS Mods, PASS Sportsman and several other support divisions. Dunkin\u2019 Donuts headlines Saturday\u2019s huge card of racing with Round #2 of the new PASS Northeast Late Model Series going 125 laps for $4,000 to win, or the option of taking $3,000 to win and having a guaranteed starting spot in Sunday\u2019s Oxford 250. Joining the PASS Northeast Late Model Series will be NEMA Midgets, The NEMA Lites, Northeast Classic Lites Dwarf Cars, Wicked Good Vintage Racing and support divisions. The granddaddy of them all, the Oxford 25, headlines the giant weekend of racing as Super Late Models from throughout the United States and Canada will converge on Oxford Plains Speedway\u2019s 3\/8 mile speed plant for the giant purse that will await the winner after 250 green flag laps of racing. The day will also feature a 75 lap, $1,000 to win PASS Mod event plus Street Stocks and a 50 lap NELCAR Legends National Championship event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
