{"id":12472,"date":"2014-02-26T09:26:29","date_gmt":"2014-02-26T14:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/?p=12472"},"modified":"2014-02-26T09:26:29","modified_gmt":"2014-02-26T14:26:29","slug":"evan-beaulieu-competing-dt-100-make-wish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2014\/02\/evan-beaulieu-competing-dt-100-make-wish\/","title":{"rendered":"Evan Beaulieu Competing in DT 100 for Make A Wish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-10721\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 5px;\" alt=\"IMG_0330-1024x682\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_0330-1024x682.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"222\" \/>Durham, ME \u2013 Evan Beaulieu will be back behind the wheel this weekend at one of the biggest single day fundraising events in all of Motorsports, the DT 100 for Make-A-Wish.\u00a0 The event is held annually at Maine Indoor Karting in Scarborough, Maine and brings in over 100 of the best short track drivers representing 11 states.\u00a0 The event has risen over $94,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in just five events.\u00a0 Beaulieu is looking forward to making his first start in the race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';\">\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a lot of fun to race with all these guys, these are some of the best drivers in racing and we all get to go have fun at the local kart track, and it\u2019s all to help a great cause,\u201d Beaulieu said of the event, \u201cWhile we are there to raise money for Make-A-Wish, we are all still competitors and want to win, it\u2019s just for bragging rights.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';\">Beaulieu raced his way into the event last month in the DT 100 Fast Forward event, a preliminary event to get additional qualifiers for the event.\u00a0 The races will be broken down in three divisions, lights, mediums and heavies.\u00a0 Beaulieu finished second in the Medium event feature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';\">This is just one of the many fundraising events that Beaulieu will be a part of during the 2014 season.\u00a0 Just a few weeks ago, he was jumping into the ocean in Portland, Maine for Camp Sunshine, a fundraiser that rose over $13,000.\u00a0 He will also be working closely with the camp this season, and they will have a few track days at the camp this season to give the children a chance to see the cars and their drivers up close.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';\">We are still taking donations for the DT 100 for Make-A-Wish, please visit our website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.evanbeaulieu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.evanbeaulieu.com<\/a>\u00a0to donate, or bring your donations to the event.\u00a0 Racing kicks off at <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2109595264\"><span class=\"aQJ\">10:00 AM on Saturday, March 1st<\/span><\/span>\u00a0at Maine Indoor Karting.\u00a0 Come down to see some of the best driver\u2019s race for a great cause and to have a great time!
