After fighting the handling throughout practice, the team made gains on the car going into the races and he drove to a hard earned eighth place finish at the end. The race was postponed from Saturday after constant rain plagued the area over the weekend.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10323\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10323\" class=\"wp-image-10323 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/1000-DSC_8255-300x254.jpg\" alt=\"1000-DSC_8255\" width=\"300\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/1000-DSC_8255-300x254.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/1000-DSC_8255.jpg 767w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10323\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo by Norm Marx<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fought a tight car for most of the day and that hurt us during the race, I was doing all I could to save the tires and if things would have gone the right way at the end I think we could\u2019ve gotten to the top five,\u201d Doiron said after the race, \u201cThank you to PASS, Oxford and all the fans that stuck around to watch us race today, it was a long day for all of us with the rain but I\u2019m glad to get the season started with a top ten finish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After starting third in the second heat race, Doiron made quick work of the front two and drove away early with the lead. He held off a charge from Austin Theriault to get the heat win, giving him an outside front row start. After hours of rain delays, the race finally began with sunset not far behind the 35 car Super Late Model field. On the start, Doiron fought the tight handling car along with what was an intense race in the races opening laps. At the race\u2019s halfway point, Doiron found himself in the tenth spot trying to save his tires for a run at the finish. Throughout the race\u2019s final stages, Doiron fought hard with Trevor Sanborn, Mike Rowe and Theriault before he crossed the finish line in the eighth spot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next weekend Doiron will return to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the \u201cSouthern Maine Motors 150.\u201d Doiron claimed his first PASS win in this race two years ago, and was runner up last year as well.
