{"id":13073,"date":"2014-05-15T14:01:02","date_gmt":"2014-05-15T18:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/?p=13073"},"modified":"2014-05-15T14:01:02","modified_gmt":"2014-05-15T18:01:02","slug":"busy-weekend-tap-packard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2014\/05\/busy-weekend-tap-packard\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy Weekend on Tap for Packard"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_10205\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10205\" class=\"wp-image-10205 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/emily-mug-260x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/emily-mug-260x300.jpg 260w, https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/emily-mug.jpg 378w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10205\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Emily Packard<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Double Duty: Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway and Airborne ACT Race<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. \u2013\u00a0 This weekend is a busy one for Packard as she heads to Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway <span data-term=\"goog_1299358527\">Friday<\/span> night for the Whelen Engineering\/Mobil 1 event with her 9x Northstar Fireworks\/Packard Fuels Ford.\u00a0 Once the night is complete it\u2019s back to the shop to swap out cars and head to Airborne Park Speedway for Saturdays ACT 100 Spectacular race with her 9x Northstar Fireworks\/Packard Fuels Chevrolet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to be heading to Devil\u2019s Bowl this weekend,\u201d said Packard, \u201cI love the track, it\u2019s a great facility, and a real driver\u2019s track.\u201d\u00a0 After a couple weeks off Packard looks forward to getting back to the track.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s been a long winter and this is the first race for some of these guys.\u201d said Packard.\u00a0 \u201cI think I have a slight advantage going into this race having run some longer races already this season.\u201d\u00a0 This will be the season opener for Devil\u2019s Bowl, and is the first time that the season starts under the lights on a <span data-term=\"goog_1299358528\">Friday<\/span> night.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had some good and bad races there, but it\u2019s a fast track,\u201d Packard said. \u201cI love the track and hope to take the checkers there.\u201d\u00a0 Racing starts at 7 pm Friday May 16<sup>th<\/sup> with the Late Models kicking off the heat races.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With a short turn around, her racing continues on Saturday May 17<sup>th<\/sup> as the team heads to Airborne Park Speedway to compete in the ACT 100 Spectacular.\u00a0 Packard made her ACT Tour debut two years ago at Airborne and finished in 12<sup>th<\/sup> place. \u00a0Having raced the ACT Tour races there last year, Packard takes her 9X Northstar Fireworks\/Packard Fuel Chevy back there hoping to find a way to conquer the track.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to go back to Airborne and get ACT Tour racing again and carrying the momentum towards a good finish,\u201d Packard said.\u00a0 After coming off her best career ACT finish at Thunder Road Packard hopes to continue building on that momentum.\u00a0 \u201cOnce I get in the car, I will forget about the previous race, and just concentrate on running my race,\u201d said Packard.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Racing kicks off Saturday May 17<sup>th<\/sup> with practice starting at <span data-term=\"goog_1299358532\">noon<\/span> and heats begin at <span data-term=\"goog_1299358533\">5 pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Follow Emily this weekend at for all her racing action on Twitter and Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SOCIAL MEDIA<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Packard on Facebook: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EmilyPackardMotorsports\">http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EmilyPackardMotorsports<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Emily Packard on Twitter: <\/strong>@EmilyPackard9<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Double Duty: Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway and Airborne ACT Race &nbsp;
