The 200 lap event will be a  free-for-all with nearly street legal cars tackling the Barre highbanks for their  chance to become a star of the \u201cNation\u2019s Site of Excitement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p \/>Last year, Massachusetts native Bill Davis earned the grand prize for the 25th anniversary special. Over 150 drivers took a shot at  the big paycheck in last season\u2019s event, which saw several pile-ups and roll overs.<br \/>\n<br \/><!--more-->\n<\/p>\n<p>2009\u2019s runner-up and veteran enduro competitor Don \u201cDipstick\u201d Tofani was one of the first to file an entry already this year. He has been joined by 16 year old Cole Despault, grandson of  Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman competitor Clem Despault, as well as former Allen  Lumber Street Stock and Junkyard Warrior drivers Steve \u201cMudflap\u201d Quenneville and Bryan Nykiel.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Drivers from all over Vermont have already filed entries, including wheelmen from Barre, Berlin, Braintree, Colchester, Essex  Junction, Fairfax, Milton, Waterbury, and Plainfield, among others. They will be  joined by entries from all over New England with representatives from New  Hampshire, Maine, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Entries and rules are available every Thursday at Thunder Road International Speedbowl or by contacting the ACT office at (802)  244-6963 or <a href=\"mailto:tb@acttour.com\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: navy;\">tb@acttour.com<\/span><\/a>. The entry fee will be $50 until this Friday (July 23). Later entries,  including up to the day of the event, Sunday, August 8, will be $75.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thunder Road will be in action this Thursday, July 22 with all four divisions. Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen,  Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Junkyard Warriors will begin qualifying at  6:30pm.
