{"id":15007,"date":"2015-06-24T18:41:01","date_gmt":"2015-06-24T22:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/?p=15007"},"modified":"2015-06-24T18:41:01","modified_gmt":"2015-06-24T22:41:01","slug":"dj-shaw-finishes-fourth-at-autodrome-chaudiere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2015\/06\/dj-shaw-finishes-fourth-at-autodrome-chaudiere\/","title":{"rendered":"DJ Shaw Finishes Fourth at Autodrome Chaudiere"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_15008\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15008\" class=\"wp-image-15008 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DJ60-300x174.jpg\" alt=\"photo by Norm Marx\" width=\"300\" height=\"174\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15008\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo by Norm Marx<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Story by Evan Beaulieu<\/p>\n<p>Valee-Junction, Quebec \u2013 DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM Racing team returned to Quebec, Canada this past weekend for the second race of the season at the Autodrome Chaudiere, the \u201cHabitations Dany Lagace 150,\u201d the seventh Pro All Stars Series North event of the season.\u00a0 Shaw rode in the top five all night with a competitive car, and finished in the fourth position when the checkered flag flew.\u00a0 Nascar Sprint Cup Series star Denny Hamlin, driving a car prepared by the Shaw\u2019s at their shop, Dale Shaw Racecars, finished in the seventh position.\u00a0 Overall, Shaw was pleased with his team\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a really good car, just not quite enough to contend for the win tonight,\u201d Shaw said after the race, \u201cWorking with Denny Hamlin was great as well, he\u2019s a pretty down to Earth guy and seemed happy with the car we provided him, our crew is great and they worked hard again this week, I can\u2019t thank them enough.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After limited practice around the tight quarter mile, the team would start fourth in their heat race, and Shaw would drive up to the second spot where he finished after the 15 lap heat race.\u00a0 Shaw started the 150 lap feature event from the fifth position, and would ride there for the majority of the race.\u00a0 Shaw made a bid early to take the race lead away from Patrick Leperle on a restart, but wasn\u2019t able to make the pass around the outside as he fell into the clutches of Travis Benjamin late in the race.\u00a0 The two drivers raced hard at the end, and Benjamin was able to beat out Shaw by less than a car length for the third spot at the finish.<\/p>\n<p>The team made a little headway on Mike Rowe in the PASS North points standings, as he finished just one spot behind Shaw in both the heat and feature race.\u00a0 The next event for the team will be <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1579788919\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span> night at Lee Speedway in Lee, New Hampshire for 150 laps around the high banked speedway.
