Barre, VT<\/em> \u2013 Thunder Road rivals Derrick O\u2019Donnell of N. Haverhill, NH and Barre\u2019s Nick Sweet will lead the field to the green flag in Segment 1 of the 53rd<\/sup> Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 11.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Three-time defending \u201cKing of the Road\u201d O\u2019Donnell topped a field of 47 challengers in Booth Bros.\/H.P. Hood Time Trials with a fast lap of 13.229 seconds to take the pole. 2013 Milk Bowl Champion Sweet was right on his heels with a lap of 13.249 seconds and will start outside the front row.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Barre\u2019s Cody Blake was third-fastest, completing a sweep of the top-three starting positions by the three top drivers in the final 2015 Thunder Road Late Model standings. The top 27 cars were separated by just 3\/10 of a second.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Multi-time Thunder Road winner Jason Corliss won the first \u201cTriple 50\u201d qualifier after coming out on top of a thrilling three-way battle with Brian Hoar and Eddie MacDonald. American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader Wayne Helliwell Jr. took the second Triple 50 and Merchants Bank 150 winner Brad Babb captured the third qualifier.<\/p>\n

The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks held Segment 1 of their Mini Milk Bowls. Middlesex\u2019s Shawn Fleury won the pole in Tiger Sportsman time trials and held off a race-long challenge from Craftsbury Cmn.\u2019s Mike Martin to triumph in Segment 1. Doug Crowningshield finished third with 2015 Tiger Champion Brendan Moodie and Cameron Ouellette completing the top-five.<\/p>\n

Whitefield, NH\u2019s Ben Belanger emerged on top of a rough-and-tumble Street Stock Segment 1. Belanger fended off West Burke\u2019s Mike Smith and Essex Jct.\u2019s Matthew Smith for the win. Marcel J. Gravel and Jennifer Getty finished fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n

The Last Chance \u201cB\u201d Feature for the 53rd<\/sup> Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl rolls to the grid at 12:15pm<\/span><\/span> on Sunday, October 11 with just the top-two finishers guaranteed a Milk Bowl starting spot. Opening ceremonies will follow at 1:00pm<\/span><\/span>. Single-day admission is $25 for adults and free for kids age 12 and under.<\/p>\n
