Carmichael And Hayes Hopeful For Strong Start<\/font><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Concord, NC (April 14, 2008):<\/strong> In 2007, Ken Schrader Racing (KSR) made a lasting impact on the newly-named NASCAR Camping World Series East when their driver Jamie Hayes finished eighth in the championship standings. This season, Hayes is no longer a rookie, and the team has expanded to a two-car operation with driver Ricky Carmichael. Both have their eye on success, and are optimistic for a strong start at the historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway this Saturday night.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/span>“I’m really excited about the year,” said Hayes, driver of the #52 Hendrick Honda Chevrolet Monte Carlo. “It will be a big race for us. With only 13 races in a season, every race has to be. We tested at Greenville and we were really happy with the results, so I’m looking forward to getting started. In this race last year we stayed out of trouble and finished on the lead lap. This year, we’re going there with the goal of being a contender.”<\/font><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Hayes, who came to the NASCAR Camping World Series East through the Legends and Late Model ranks, will be hosting 300 guests at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. Hendrick Honda in nearby Easley, South Carolina will be on hand to cheer on Hayes’ season opening effort.<\/font><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Joining Hayes as a teammate will be former AMA Motocross Champion Ricky Carmichael driving the #4 Monster Energy Drink Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Carmichael will be vying for Rookie-of-the-Year honors and will be making his highly anticipated NASCAR Camping World Series East debut.<\/font><\/p>\n

            <\/span>“Switching from motorcycles to cars is a real challenge, and I love that,” said Carmichael. “We’ve been testing and so far it’s been a fairly smooth transition. Ken (Schrader) was at the Greenville test and gave me a lot of great advice. I couldn’t be happier to be learning from someone with as much knowledge of the sport. It will also help to have Jamie (Hayes) right there at the track every week. He’s competed at all of the tracks on the schedule, and we’ll be able to throw things off each other to make us both better. I’m looking forward to it.”<\/font><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Greenville-Pickens Speedway will host the An American Revolution 150 on Saturday, April 19th<\/sup>. Gates open at 3 pm with qualifying at 6 pm, and green flag at 8 pm. Fans can meet Jamie Hayes and Ricky Carmichael during the on-track meet and greet at 7 p.m.<\/font><\/p>\n
