{"id":16399,"date":"2016-08-04T09:01:10","date_gmt":"2016-08-04T13:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracing.com\/16\/?p=16399"},"modified":"2016-08-04T09:01:10","modified_gmt":"2016-08-04T13:01:10","slug":"gspss-stop-at-riverhead-will-not-be-rescheduled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2016\/08\/gspss-stop-at-riverhead-will-not-be-rescheduled\/","title":{"rendered":"GSPSS Stop at Riverhead Will Not Be Rescheduled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-15701\" src=\"http:\/\/maineracing.com\/16\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/graphic_GSPSS-300x146.jpg\" alt=\"graphic_GSPSS\" width=\"300\" height=\"146\" \/>WALPOLE, N.H.\u00a0 <\/strong>Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) stop at Riverhead Raceway originally scheduled for Saturday July 30 will not be rescheduled.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The series stopped at the 1\/4 mile bullring this past <span data-term=\"goog_289970182\">Saturday<\/span> night July 30 and even though weather forecasts called for no rain throughout the entire week, Mother Nature hit hard with rain falling and forcing the cancellation of the nights action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Though originally the series was going to return, the track\u00a0and series officials decided it would be best to not &#8212; but also decided that the race will become an annual event for the future.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The speedway and the GSPSS both wanted to do the same thing but it was a business decision for the long-term future of the event,&#8221; series President Mike Parks said. &#8220;We race <span data-term=\"goog_289970183\">this Friday<\/span> and <span data-term=\"goog_289970184\">next Saturday<\/span>, so we were concerned about the teams having three of four races right in a row. We felt it was the best business decision &#8212; we scraped it for this year and will reschedule for next year and make it work for the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The next feature race scheduled for the GSPSS will be <span data-term=\"goog_289970185\">this Friday<\/span> night at Claremont Speedway in Claremont, New Hampshire with the running of the Bond Auto 100.
