of another long season, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and Modifieds will close out 2016 <span data-term=\"goog_2115448963\">this Saturday<\/span> afternoon at Maine\u2019s Oxford Plains Speedway.\u00a0 The PASS Modifieds have an outstanding points battle heading to Oxford Plains with Andy Shaw leading by a slight four points over Ryan Robbins and third place points man Ben Tinker just 19 points behind Shaw.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The battle for the PASS North Super Late Model crown comes down to two former champions, DJ Shaw and Johnny Clark.\u00a0 Shaw leads Clark by 69 points as they come to Oxford Plains for <span data-term=\"goog_2115448964\">Saturday<\/span> afternoon\u2019s 150-lap event.\u00a0 Clark, the former six-time series champion, recently captured his first win of the season at White Mountain Motorsports Park.\u00a0 While Shaw has not won since Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in April, his consistency has him on the threshold of a second PASS North title.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as the season goes, I would consider the season successful, but we really wanted more wins,\u201d says Shaw, driver of the Precision JLM\/Mulkern Excavating #60.\u00a0 \u201cWe race for wins and they just didn\u2019t come this year.\u00a0 We still have a shot at winning our second race this weekend, but you always want more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>While Shaw has a fairly healthy advantage over Clark, he knows that Oxford Plains always has some of the best car counts on the circuit and that this weekend will be no different.\u00a0 For the title hopefuls, an early problem could mean disaster when it comes to winning the championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we will have a big field so, at first, we will play it safe and maybe, if a few cars drop out and the risk becomes less, we can go for the win,\u201d says Shaw.\u00a0 \u201cPoint racing is a tough deal because we probably could have had one or two more wins, but you don\u2019t want to take risks.\u00a0 Hopefully we have a good car and can take no chances and still come away with a win and a championship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A strong field is expected <span data-term=\"goog_2115448965\">on Saturday<\/span> afternoon led by former Oxford 250 winners, Travis Benjamin, and Mike and Ben Rowe.\u00a0\u00a0 David Oliver returns to the seat of the #21 this weekend and will be joined by fellow Mainers Scott McDaniel, Michael Landry, David Farrington, Kirk Thibeau, Scott Robbins, Tracy Gordon, Denis Spencer, Jr., John Peters, Reid Lanpher, Tim and TJ Brackett, and Adam Polvinen.\u00a0 2016 winner Derek Griffith will be back, along with Nova Scotia\u2019s Cole Butcher.<\/p>\n<p>All the action gets under way bright and early <span data-term=\"goog_2115448966\">Saturday<\/span> morning with pit gates opening at <span data-term=\"goog_2115448967\">8 AM<\/span>, followed by rotating practice at <span data-term=\"goog_2115448968\">9:30 AM<\/span>, heat races start at <span data-term=\"goog_2115448969\">2 PM<\/span>, with feature events to follow for the PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds,
