Scarborough, Maine-Some Wildcat drivers have waited many years to win the annual 50 lap race but Buddy Poole showed them how to do it on just the second try.\u00a0 Poole started from the pole position and led the first 2 laps before Richard Randall took over.\u00a0 Randall set the pace until Lyman McKeage took over on lap 6 leading to the caution flag that waved on the 11th circuit.\u00a0 Randall went back to the point on the restart and stayed there thru lap 19 when the caution again appeared.<\/p>\n

Things got interesting on this restart as McKeage made a move to pass Randall just as Randall threw the block.\u00a0 The result was contact between the leaders and McKeage got the worst of it as he spun in turn 2.\u00a0 Randall was still in front but now David Wildes was hunting for the lead position and took a look to the inside as again Randall threw the block.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
It all came to a head on lap 30 when Wildes got to the inside and Randall went to close the door again but Wildes was too far in and both cars spun handing the lead to Buddy Poole.\u00a0 Poole had a great side by side duel with Glenn Bradbury from laps 31-40 swapping the lead several times.\u00a0 The clinching move came in traffic on lap 46 as Poole pulled in front to stay and took the win.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cole Watson was second over Bradbury in a photo finish for second and third place.\u00a0 Gary Babineau was fourth and Ron Corbeil fifth.<\/p>\n
David Oliver blasted the field of Pro Series cars on Saturday night taking a checkered flag for the first time this season.\u00a0 Chris Smith led the opening laps with T.J. Brackett applying pressure.\u00a0 Oliver made a pass for the lead on lap 12 and never looked back as he won by a full straight over Bub Bilodeau who was second.\u00a0 Bill Rodgers got the third place honors with Bobby Babb and Chris Smith rounding out the top finishers.<\/p>\n
Jason Larrabee added yet another Sports Series checkered flag to his collection on Saturday night.\u00a0 Larrabee led all 35 laps but was hounded all the way but several competitors before the win was secured.\u00a0 Jeff Charland chased Larrabee through the opening laps as Sally Gherardi would soon arrive on the scene and become a player.\u00a0 Larrabee stayed in front despite cautions on laps 7,\u00a0 13 and 23 despite Gherardi trying to make a move for the lead.\u00a0 Larrabee took the win with Gherardi second and Scott Dorr third.\u00a0 Frank Wear and Jeff Charland filled the fourth and fifth place positions.<\/p>\n
David Palmer was a surprise winner in the 20 lap Road Runner feature race.\u00a0 Palmer took the lead on lap 18 of 20 when Shawn Brackett came upon a slower car that had been involved in a earlier crash that Brackett missed because he was back in 6th position at the time.\u00a0 Brackett went to lap Trevor Graffam and Graffam decided to change the outcome of the race and blocked Brackett running him almost completely off the track.
Palmer inherited the lead and took the win\u00a0 while Brackett was able to get second place out of an unfortunate situation.\u00a0 Mark Boutin was third with Mark Hill and Ed Pierce next across the finish line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
