{"id":1697,"date":"2008-06-15T06:44:51","date_gmt":"2008-06-15T06:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/wp\/?p=1697"},"modified":"2008-06-15T06:44:51","modified_gmt":"2008-06-15T06:44:51","slug":"buddy-poole-wins-wildcat-50-lap-special-at-beech-ridge-motor-speedway-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2008\/06\/buddy-poole-wins-wildcat-50-lap-special-at-beech-ridge-motor-speedway-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"Buddy Poole wins Wildcat 50 lap special at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Buddy Poole wins  Wildcat 50 lap special at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scarborough, Maine-<\/strong>Some  Wildcat drivers have waited many years to win the annual 50 lap race but Buddy  Poole showed them how to do it on just the second try.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Poole started from the pole position and  led the first 2 laps before Richard Randall took over.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Randall set the pace until Lyman McKeage  took over on lap 6 leading to the caution flag that waved on the 11<sup>th<\/sup>  circuit.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Randall went back to the  point on the restart and stayed there thru lap 19 when the caution again  appeared. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">Things got interesting on this  restart as McKeage made a move to pass Randall just as Randall threw the  block.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>The result was contact  between the leaders and McKeage got the worst of it as he spun in turn 2.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Randall was still in front but now David  Wildes was hunting for the lead position and took a look to the inside as again  Randall threw the block.<span>&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">It all came to a head on lap 30  when Wildes got to the inside and Randall went to close the door again but  Wildes was too far in and both cars spun handing the lead to Buddy Poole.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Poole had a great side by side duel with  Glenn Bradbury from laps 31-40 swapping the lead several times.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>The clinching move came in traffic on  lap 46 as Poole pulled in front to stay and took the win.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>Cole Watson was second over  Bradbury in a photo finish for second and third place.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Gary Babineau was fourth and Ron Corbeil  fifth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">David Oliver blasted the field of  Pro Series cars on Saturday night taking a checkered flag for the first time  this season.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Chris Smith led the  opening laps with T.J.
