Oh, brother! Farrington, Nile sweep
four Unrestricted features on busy kart card<\/font><\/p>\n

OXFORD, Maine – The brother tandem of Dave Farrington Jr. and Craig Nile left a record field of 15 Unrestricted go karts in their tire tracks Friday night in the JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series at Oxford Plains Speedway.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Farrington swept the two 'A' feature events for the high-point half of the equation, while Nile worked his way into the upper-handicap group next time around with a pair of 'B' main triumphs.<\/font><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Both 'A' features effectively ended when Farrington captured the lead on lap 7. Robbie Wentworth won the battle for second from Jeff Lillibridge in the opener, while Tyler Braunschweig kept pace with Farrington and outdistanced Lillibridge for the runner-up spot in the second go-round.<\/font><\/div>\n
Nile needed only four laps to shake Aaron Collomy for the lead in the opening 'B' round. It took him until lap 16 to get around race two leader Jackie Beattie and pull off the two-fer. Jeff Roubo hit the stripe ahead of Collomy in the first round, with Erwin Carey running third in his initial start of the season in the second segment.<\/font><\/div>\n
In Star Champ competition, Farrington made it five wins for his family with his division-leading fifth victory of the season to kick off the night. Point leader Stephen Beattie wound up second in front of Walt Dearborn.<\/font><\/div>\n
Dearborn denied Farrington his third sweep by rallying for his third Star Champ checkered flag of the campaign in the nightcap. The two tangled while battling for the lead on lap 14, and Dearborn was the first of the two to sift his way back to the front. Keith Grant took home third.<\/font><\/div>\n
Three victories brought Farrington's all-division total to 13 for the season. Farrington is the all-time winner in the JARRacing Series with 31 visits to victory lane.<\/font><\/div>\n
All division contested double features after the second half of a previous doubleheader was rained out on July 13.<\/font><\/div>\n
Other winning streaks stayed alive, as well, by virtue of four additional sweeps.<\/font><\/div>\n
Troy Davis remained undefeated in Blue Plate competition with his eighth and ninth victories of the summer. Cody Chiasson was runner-up in the opener, with Brandon Varney celebrating his 10th birthday by snagging that spot in his first-ever Blue Plate run in round two.<\/font><\/div>\n
Cody Chiasson captured his fifth and sixth consecutive Box Stock victories, dominating the first encounter and outlasting Dylan Haskell in the second.<\/font><\/div>\n
Haskell and Wade Blanchette followed Chiasson in race one. Haskell spun out of contention late in the rematch, vaulting Varney to second shead of Blanchette. <\/font><\/div>\n
Evan Armington made it three in a row in Purple Plate, taking the lead on lap 6 in each round. <\/font>Spencer Thompson and Chiasson swapped the second and third-place laurels.<\/font><\/div>\n
Spencer Morse rang up his fourth win in the last five Gold Plate tries.<\/font><\/div>\n
Morse's victory in the Gold encore was the most impressive run of the night. After he made an unscheduled pit stop and surrendered the lead under caution with two laps remaining, Morse surged from seventh and overcame point leader Kyle Metivier on the final circuit to swipe the win. Tyler King ran third.<\/font><\/div>\n
Metivier was also the runner-up in the opener ahead of Josh Brown.<\/font><\/div>\n
The JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series continues next Friday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m. OPS roars to life again Saturday with Time Warner Cable Night for the Oxford Championship Series at 6:30 p.m.
