SEEKONK, MA \u2013 The American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models return to Seekonk Speedway\u00a0Saturday, July 15\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for what could be considered Round 5 of the Scott Payea \u2013 Dillon Moltz title fight.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Payea, driver of the Harrison Redi-Mix No. 37, has won the last three ACT events -at Devil\u2019s Bowl, Thunder Road and White Mountain – but his lead in the championship standings is a mere eight points (459-451).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Moltz won the season opener at Lee USA Speedway in the RB Performance\/Brackett Mechanical No. 3. It was the second ACT career win for the Waterford, Conn. driver. He\u2019s had three podium finishes, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, since.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Payea took over the reins for car owner Rick Paya when eight-time ACT champion Brian Hoar retired after the 2015 season. His latest win at White Mountain was the 11th of his ACT career.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2008, while fielding his own team, he fell one point shy of champion Patrick Laperle. One year earlier, he was the runner-up to Jean-Paul Cyr.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the midst of a dustup at the front between Eddie MacDonald and Brad Babb, Payea came away with the win at last year\u2019s Seekonk event.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just looking to keep up our momentum,\u201d Payea said. \u201cWe need to continue to have strong races. Seekonk is a good little track that can be racy.\u00a0 If you can run the outside, you can pass a bunch of cars there.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited as a team to get back to Seekonk,\u201d Moltz said. \u201cWe finished 2nd there last year. As a driver, I have always loved racing there.\u00a0 Considering last year\u2019s results, I think we have something good to build off of.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Seekonk Speedway event\u00a0Saturday, July 15<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is set for 100 green flag laps. Also in action \u2013 Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) Lites and Seekonk\u2019s Pro Stock, Sportsman and Sport Trucks NASCAR weekly divisions. Qualifying heats begin at\u00a06 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
