Barre, Vt.<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 St. Albert, Qu\u00e9.\u2019s Alex Labb\u00e9\u00a0has filed the first official entry for the 55th<\/sup>\u00a0Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on\u00a0Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1<\/span>. The 2014 Seri\u00e9\u00a0ACT Champion will look to become the first Canadian driver since 2008 to win\u00a0the historic event.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Labb\u00e9 is an 11-time\u00a0Seri\u00e9 ACT winner and currently leads the NASCAR Pinty\u2019s Series standings. He was the polesitter for the 2013 Vermont Milk Bowl and is aiming for his first victory in\u00a0\u201cThe Toughest Short-Track Stock Car Race in North America\u201d.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nearly 30 entries have already been received for the unique $10,000-to-win event. Three-time Milk Bowl winners Nick Sweet of Barre and Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, Qu\u00e9. have filed entries along with current Thunder Road Late Model point leader Bobby Therrien of Hinesburg, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader Scott Payea of Milton, and newly crowned Seri\u00e9 ACT Champion Jonathan Bouvrette of Blainville, Qu\u00e9. Dillon Moltz, Trampas Demers, Jason Corliss, and Scott Dragon are among the others who have entered.<\/p>\n

The action will kick off on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00pm with Booth Bros.\/H.P. Hood Milk Bowl Qualifying Day. Late Model time trials and \u201cTriple 50\u201d qualifying races will help set the Milk Bowl starting field. The Lenny\u2019s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and New England Dwarf Cars will have time trials and Segment 1 of their two-segment \u201cMini Milk Bowls\u201d, while the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are on the card for a special\u00a0Saturday<\/span>-only event.<\/p>\n

The 55th<\/sup>\u00a0Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank goes to post on Sunday, October 1 at 1:00pm. The day will begin with the Last Chance \u201cB\u201d Feature to determine the final starting spots in Segment 1 of the Milk Bowl. Segments 2 and 3 will be set by inverting the finish of the previous segment. The driver with the best combined finish in all three segments will be the overall winner. The Lenny\u2019s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and New England Dwarf Cars will crown their Mini Milk Bowl Champions\u00a0on Sunday<\/span>\u00a0as well.<\/p>\n

Admission for the Vermont Milk Bowl is just $30 for a two-day ticket or $10 for\u00a0Saturday<\/span>-only. The front gates will open at\u00a010:00am<\/span>\u00a0both days. An optional practice day for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny\u2019s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks is scheduled for\u00a0Friday, September 29<\/span>\u00a0from\u00a01:00pm to 5:00pm<\/span>\u00a0with the pit gates opening at\u00a012:00pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n
