{"id":18086,"date":"2018-01-19T19:06:25","date_gmt":"2018-01-20T00:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/?p=18086"},"modified":"2018-01-19T19:06:25","modified_gmt":"2018-01-20T00:06:25","slug":"kate-re-10-im-ready-season-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2018\/01\/kate-re-10-im-ready-season-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Kate Re #10 &#8211;  I\u2019m ready for the season to start!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_18087\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18087\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18087\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/re10-e1516406685697.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-18087\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo by Karen Re<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Story by Chris Roy<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 race season is just around the corner and Kate Re of Lovell, Maine will be starting the next step in her racing career. \u201cMy plans for the 2018 season are to get as much seat time and learn as much as possible.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m excited to try something new and look forward to the season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of different types of race cars and series, so what made Kate decide to race modifieds, this season? \u201cI\u2019ve wanted to race a modified, ever since I started racing.\u00a0 I like the open wheel style of a modified; I always liked racing the Champ karts when I had the chance, they have a similar open wheel style.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the off season Kate has been keeping busy, \u201cDuring the off season I\u2019ve been riding my snowmobile, spending time with family and friends and going to school.\u00a0 I\u2019m ready for the season to start, the off season is boring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 PASS Mod schedule will consist of 11 races at 3 different tracks. \u201cThe 2018 schedule is great for us.\u00a0 Most all the races are at Oxford which is good because I\u2019m not old enough to race at Beech Ridge yet and Oxford is close to home.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to going to Bangor for the one PASS race and we might try to get to Wiscasset for a race or two, for seat time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first PASS Modified race of the season will be at OPS on April 14<sup>th<\/sup>. \u201cWe\u2019re almost ready, a few more things to do before we can hit the track.\u00a0 I\u2019m hoping for some practice time before opening day. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So is racing in the PASS Mods a step towards the V Mods or Whelen Mods in the future for Kate? \u201cNot really.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to try a larger mod if given the opportunity but after running the PASS Modified for a few years, my goal is to eventually run a super late and try to qualify for the Oxford 250.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Staring a new style of race car, there is always a learning curve and advice from some of the fellow racers is always a good place to start. \u201cI\u2019ve received a lot of great advice from others drivers about racing this season, not only the modified but also advise about racing at Oxford.\u00a0\u00a0 Most everyone just tells me to have fun\u2026.and that\u2019s easy to do!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kate would like to thank all her Sponsors &#8211; Worster\u2019s Marine Center, Future Foods IGA, Krimco Snap-on, Albany Auto Sales, E &amp; R Excavation, Mt Washington Valley Kustomz, Valley Collision, the Winchenbaugh Family, Drew Corporation, Richmond Karting Speedway, and Vacationland Campground.\u00a0 I would also like to thank my Dad and Mom, and my crew, Mark Woodward and B.J.
