{"id":1833,"date":"2008-09-14T23:19:08","date_gmt":"2008-09-14T23:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/wp\/?p=1833"},"modified":"2008-09-14T23:19:08","modified_gmt":"2008-09-14T23:19:08","slug":"laperle-dominates-dodge-act-150-short-karkos-capture-little-guy-100s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2008\/09\/laperle-dominates-dodge-act-150-short-karkos-capture-little-guy-100s\/","title":{"rendered":"Laperle dominates Dodge ACT 150  Short, Karkos capture Little Guy 100s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">OXFORD, Maine &#8211; Patrick Laperle of St. Denis, Quebec, dominated the final 101 laps to capture the New England Dodge Dealers 150 American-Canadian Tour event Saturday at Oxford Plains Speedway.<\/font>   <\/p>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Laperle took the lead from Glen Luce on lap 50 and survived a brief battle with ACT rookie Nick Sweet after the third and final restart of the race on lap 144.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">The result represented the second ACT win at Oxford for Laperle and career-best finishes on the tour for runner-up Sweet and third-place Luce. <\/font><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Luce also finished second in the TD Banknorth 250 at Oxford in July.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Joey Polewarczyk Jr. and Eddie MacDonald finished fourth and 10th, respectively, after qualifying through the last-chance &#39;B&#39; feature. <\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Polewarczyk and MacDonald made the approximate three-hour commute from the NASCAR Camping World East race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H., where MacDonald won and Polewarczyk placed sixth.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">OPS weekly competitor Shawn Martin rounded out the top five. MacDonald edged Martin by a tiebreaker to win the four-race L\/A Harley-Davidson Challenge series and the $2,000 first-place check from that point fund.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Nearly 600 laps of green-flag racing thrilled fans for 6 1\/2 hours in Oxford&#39;s season finale.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Mike Short (Strictly Stock) and Justin Karkos (MIni Stock) captured the 13th annual Little Guy 100 open competition races.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">David Childs won a pair of Chimney Tech Outlaw races, including a 50-lapper rained out from last Saturday&#39;s Acceleration Series Showdown and the regularly scheduled 20-lap sprint.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Rick Spaulding (Outlaw), Jamie Leavitt (Runnin&#39; Rebel), Jake Burns (Truck), Vanna Brackett (Ladies) and Jamie Heath (Renegade) also went to victory lane on the busy program. <br \/> <\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><br \/> NEW ENGLAND DODGE DEALERS 150: 1.
