(Guy Laroche photo)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>Waterbury, VT<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced that, effective immediately, S\u00e9rie ACT promoter Marc-Patrick Roy will no longer be associated with the organization. Roy had been in charge of S\u00e9rie ACT operations since early 2017 and had also worked as an official at select ACT Late Model Tour events in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ACT co-owner Cris Michaud cited differences regarding the direction of the Quebec-based Late Model series as the reason behind Roy\u2019s departure. Despite the move, ACT remains committed to the future of S\u00e9rie ACT and hopes to make additional announcements in the coming days regarding the upcoming season. The series is currently scheduled to open its 2018 campaign at Vall\u00e9e-Junction, QC\u2019s Autodrome Chaudiere on\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1031892457\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Saturday, June 2<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate Marc-Patrick Roy\u2019s efforts over the past year both for S\u00e9rie ACT and for Northeast Late Model racing as a whole,\u201d Michaud said. \u201cHowever, we decided recently that it was in the best interests of the parties involved to go our separate ways.
