The Unity Variety and Video Wildcat's Carl McAlpine jumped to the early lead with Tim Hudson challenging. Derek Pearson, making his 2008 Unity Raceway debut, passed the pair using the outside groove to cruise to the heat race win. The feature would have Dustin Hubbard recover from his heat race problems to jump to the early lead.

Carl McAlpine, thinking the engine was going to expire in the 18 machine, switched cars with Mike Shaw. Shaw having a problem with the 18, completes a 360 on the front stretch but keeps on going. Pearson weaves through traffic looking for the leading Hubbard. Hubbard is pulling away from his competitors. A caution brings the field back together. Hubbard and Pearson go door to door. Hubbard retakes the lead. The #4 of Tim Hudson is gaining fast on the leaders. This would be short lived as Hudson spins coming out of turn 4. Hubbard cruises to the race win. Pearson takes home the second place trophy. Shawn Hamel finishes a strong third. Troy Patterson and Carl McAlpine finish out the top five.

The Geo & Sons Teen Thunder had a change in the finishing order of last weeks race. Track Manager, George Fernald, Jr., had to award Ricky Palmer a co-winner status of last weeks win. A rule had not be included the rule book. George only thought it fair to have Ricky Palmer and Ben Nile share the win. The rule has been corrected and all parties are happy with the results. Jeremy Ludden took the lead passing Ricky Palmer on the inside. The lead would be short lived as Palmer regained control and took the heat race win. Ludden would weave through traffic and take the lead in the feature. Palmer would spin coming out of turn two bringing out the first caution. After a quick trip to the pits, Palmer would return to the back of the field. Ludden retakes the lead after the restart. His #42 machine is having a banner night pulling away from the field. Palmer is working his way to the front. Ben Nile and newcomer Jordan Hawes are putting on a show for third. These two cars are running nose to tail. Palmer is running out of laps to catch Ludden. Ludden takes home the checkered flag. This is the first feature win for this young racer. Ricky Palmer recovers for second. Nile is able to beat Hawes to the line for third. Shelby Kimball remains consistant with another fifth place finish.

The Late Model Pro 4 division saw Steve Rackliff's #94 machine continue his domination. Sean Johnson jumped to the early heat race lead. Rackliff gets tied up in traffice. Johnson gets loose allowing Rackliff to catch him and pass for the checkered. Sean Johnson would again take the lead. Johnson is pulling away from the pack. Corey Walker is having a fine run in second. Rackliff is being patient tracking down the front two. Rackliff is able to catch Walker and pass on the inside. Johnson still has a sizable lead. Lap 8 would have a scary wreck by the leader, Sean Johnson. A broken sway bar bolt would cause Johnson to loose control and end up under the flag stand. This would cover the crowd and flag man, Ron Roy with dust. Once the dust had cleared, Johnson was okay, but the car would be carried to the pits on the hook. Rackliff was able to jump to the lead on the restart. Rookie, Ben Clark, would follow Rackliff for second. Corey Walker is holding on the the third spot. Clark is not loosing site of the Rackliff machine. A spinning Walker would allow Norm Cummings Jr. to move into the third spot. Rackliff would cross the line first. Clark would again hit the winners circle in second place. Norm Cummings, Jr. would take home the third place trophy and continue his string of top five finishes. Dixon Smith would return to Unity Raceway with a fourth place finish. Greg Cummings would finish out the top five.

The Ladies division saw their largest field of the season. Chelsea Young continued her winning ways taking the heat race win over Jennifer Bean. Jennifer Bean would take the early lead. Meagan Allen and Molly Feeney are using the inside lane to move the front. Chelsea Young has already hit the top five from her rear starting position. Bean is still holding on to the top spot. Many of the Ladies are challenging for the top spot. Kayla Robinson is moving to the front using the inside groove to pass Bean. Caution on lap #9 as Chelsea Young slides off the front stretch going for the lead. A flat left front tire forces her to the pits. Molly Feeney uses her experience to take the lead from Kayla Robinson. Robinson slows on the race track allowing Samantha Letourneau to pass for second. Letourneau is looking to the front. Letourneu catches Feeney and sneaks through on the inside to take the lead. Rookie Letourneau takes home the checkered. Feeney crosses the stripe second. Rhonda Lyford makes her first appearance one to remember taking home third. Carol Wilson and Jennifer Bean finish out the top five.

The Limited division welcomed back the St. Clair's to the track. Frank Moulton would have a fine run with Dave St. Clair. Dave St. Clair would have his orange bumper staring at Moulton the whole heat race. Moulton would not be denied, taking the heat race win. Dustin Hubbard jumps to the early race lead bringing Moulton with him for second. The pack of cars are really tight. Any one of six cars could take the lead. Hubbard remains in the lead. Deane Smart pulls into the mix by challenging Hubbard for the lead. Following Smart is Dave St. Clair. A caution on lap 19 allows St. Clair to pass Moulton for second. Smart and Dave St. Clair run door to door. Dave St. Clair drives deep into corner to make the late race pass. Dave St. Clair would take the race win. Smart would follow in second. Moulton would cross the stripe in third. Josh St. Clair and Puncin St. Clair would finish out the top five.

The Men's Peanuts division had great field of competitors. The first heat race saw Cody Sleeper jump to the lead and never look back for the win. The second heat race saw a great battle between Ryan Ripley and Tim Robinson. Ripley would use the outside groove to second heat race win. The feature saw the Sleeper brothers lead the field to the checkered flag. A caution on lap 1 in the middle of the field would cause many cars to retire to the pits. This caution would allow Ryan Ripley to challenge Cody Sleeper on the restart. Ripley uses the inside line to take the lead. Tim Collins is using the high line to pass Ed Sleeper for third. Ed Sleeper is losing the handle on his machine allowing Tim Robinson to move into the fourth spot. Brian Hayes brings out the caution on lap 17. The restart has Ripley taking the lead with Robinson following in second. There is a tight battle for third between Cody Sleeper and Tim Collins. Cody Sleeper's machine starts to drift high allowing Collins to take over third. Ripley weaves through lapped traffic to take the top spot. Robinson follows in second. Tim Collins finishes in third, but does not pass post race inspection. This moves Cody Sleeper to third and Ed Sleeper to fourth. Ryan Hayes recovers from a mid race spin to finish fifth.

The Sportsman division had Brad Bellows being named "Mainely MotorSports" driver of the month for Unity Raceway. This award was for the month of June. Brad's winning streak would remain intact as he cruised to the heat race win. Donnie York would drive to the early lead. Mark Dodge would return to the track after a brief vacation using the outside to overtake York for the lead. Kris Huff would use the outside line to catch York and try to make the pass. York is making it hard for Huff to pass. Huff would use the inside groove to make the pass for second. Bellows is being patient passing cars. Bellows catches York and Huff. Huff gets loose and allows Bellows to clear for the second postion. Bellows starts reeling in Dodge. Dodge's cars seems to be getting loose as the race goes on. Bellows is running out of time to catch Dodge. Bellows winning steak comes to an end as Dodge takes home the checkered flag. Bellows finishes second. Kris Huff follows in third. Donnie York has a strong run in fourth. Kris Watson continues his top finishes in fifth.

The Monsta Mini division saw Mike Wilson return to his winning ways. Wilson returned from last weeks ride down over the back stretch to take the heat race win. The feature saw the Wilson machine jump to the early race lead. Matt Picard sneeks through the pack to take over second position. Duane Dunifer comes to challenge Picard for second. Dunifer's machine is also running well considering his wreck of last week. Markus Lowe and Gary Richards are running side by side for fouth. Richard Jackson is charging from the rear of the field for fifth. Wilson lead is increasing. Jackson catches Lowe and Richards and uses the inside groove to move into third. Lowe and Richards are still battling for the fourth position. Wilson takes home the checkered. Dunifer finishes in second. Jackson continues his fine runs of late in third. Lowe takes command of fourth. Richards finishes out the top five.

The Enduro's headed thirteen cars to the green flag. 10 year old, Robert Dyer, took the early race lead. Chris Rudge passes cars on the outside to take the lead from Dyer. Alex Fernald follows Rudge on the outside to take over second. Fernald's mechanical woes returned this week as a left front tire forces him to the pits. Rudge continues to weave through lapped traffic. Young Robert Dyer continues a fine run in second. James Swan puts his sights on the front pair. Swan catches Dyer and makes the pass on the outside for second. Rob Paddack returns from last weeks crash to take over the third position when Dyer spins on the front stretch sand banks. Rudge cruises to another win. Swan follows in second. Paddock takes home the third place trophy. Shane Millard makes his 2008 debut on fourth. Eric Peavey completes the top five.

The Wicked Good Antiques Racers returned to Unity Raceway on Friday night. The Modified division put on a fine race for the crowd. It showcased a side by side battle between "Mainely MotorSports" Steve Perry and the #13 machine of Reynolds. These two would go side by side with no one taking the lead for long. Heavy traffic would allow Reynolds to take the lead over Perry and pull away. Reynolds took home the checkered flag. Perry would take home the trophy in second. Former Unity Raceway driver, Robert Hills, would take home third.

This weeks racing will feature the Kid's Penny Pounce, 30 lap Unity Variety & Video Wildcat Feature, and the Mid Coast Mini Cups.

RACE RESULTS – 7/11

LIMITED DIVISION

1. #14 DAVE ST.
