During
the course of the season, he earned six feature wins and over 20 top five finishes. In
addition, Jake is the 2018 Legend Car Champion at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts,
where he ran their weekly Fast Fridays Series.

At the end of the regular season, Matheson was third in the national point standings. His
bid for the title would come down to the championship race at The Bullring. More than 100
drivers from the U.S. and abroad gathered in the Nevada desert to compete for INEX titles.
“I knew I had to finish ahead of the other two points leaders to secure the championship”,
explained Matheson. Patience was key in the caution filled race that took more than hour to
complete. Matheson maintained the third position for many laps, waiting for a chance to
pass the #97 car of Daniel Silvestri. The opening came with just two laps left to go in the
race. Matheson passed the #97 car to finish second in the race and to clinch the #1
position in the country.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of my family and
partners. I want to thank my Crew Chief, Keith Matheson, who spend countless hours in the
garage working on the car. Also, 860 Motorsports for their technical guidance.
