{"id":2129,"date":"2007-05-14T06:13:47","date_gmt":"2007-05-14T06:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/wp\/?p=2129"},"modified":"2007-05-14T06:13:47","modified_gmt":"2007-05-14T06:13:47","slug":"fournier-records-pro-stock-grand-slam-while-harris-takes-sportsman-feature-at-cfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2007\/05\/fournier-records-pro-stock-grand-slam-while-harris-takes-sportsman-feature-at-cfs\/","title":{"rendered":"Fournier records Pro Stock grand slam while Harris takes Sportsman feature at CFS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">SHEDIAC, NEW BRUNSWICK &ndash; The 2007 Atlantic stock car season got off to a roaring  start at the Centre for Speed (CFS) in Barachois on Sunday afternoon with Kris  Fournier (#37) of Charlottetown recording a grand slam in Late Model Pro Stock  Super Series action during the Doritos 2007 Atlantic Season Opener. <\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">Whether you&rsquo;re a Dodge, Ford or Chevy fan, you were well served on Sunday  afternoon as all three makes picked up wins in the Late Model Pro Stock 75 and  Sportsman Super Series 75. Fournier was dominant in his Totally Tile Dodge  Charger finishing first in all three 25-lap legs of the Late Model Pro Stock  Super Series event. Meanwhile, Matt Harris (#87) of Fredericton drove his Ford  Fusion pro stock to second overall thanks to two second-place showings in the  second and third 25-lap legs of the event to go with a fourth place result in  the first 25-lapper. Rounding out the top three was brother Myles Harris (#31)  driving his Monte Carlo to second, fifth and third place finishes in the three  25-lap segments. Wayne Chase (#7) of Lake George, NB took home fourth place  honours while Shawn Pierce (#21) of Bridgewater took fifth and Steve Milburn  (#27) of Hillsborough, NB was sixth. <\/p>\n<p>A few drivers who practiced on  Saturday were unable to compete in Sunday&rsquo;s 75-lap Late Model Pro Stock event  because of mechanical difficulties. This included the veteran Frank Fraser (#23)  of Shubenacadie, N.S. who was scheduled to make a return to Pro Stock racing  after a number of years away from the driving duties. Unfortunately, Frank blew  the engine on his racecar during Saturday&rsquo;s practice. <\/p>\n<p>In Sportsman Super  Series action, Freddy Prosser (#31) of Shenstown, NB drove his Quepog Coasters  Monte Carlo to victory in the 75-lap main event ahead of Wayne Wormell (#23) of  Miramichi and Luc Bourgeois (#88) of Memramcook. Prosser, who had only recorded  one heat win at CFS during 2006, took advantage of a restart on lap 21 to bolt  ahead of pole-sitter Wormell and then hung on for the win in the 14-car feature.  Wormell had earlier captured the first win of 2007 crossing the finish line  first in the first 10-lap heat while Bourgeois drove his Ford Fusion to the win  in the second 10-lap preliminary heat. <\/p>\n<p>Next event at the CFS will be the  Seely&rsquo;s Motel points race on Sunday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. This will be the first  points racing event for 2007 for Sportsman, Street Stock, TigerCat and  Thundercat competitors.
