Intervention  by Mother Nature has forced the famed oval to readjust its racing schedule  and, as a result, Modified racing will top the bill for the next three weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: \" New=\"New\" Roman\",\"=\"Roman\",\"\"> Beginning this Thursday, June 17<sup>th<\/sup>, the Modified Racing Series will take top billing when they make their  first of two scheduled appearances at Thompson and compete in a 75-lap main  event. The following Thursday, June 24<sup>th<\/sup>, will be the twice-postponed  running of the first\u00a0 of four open competition Tour-Type Modified 40-lap Shoot  Outs sponsored by Town Fair Tire. Week three ( July 1<sup>st<\/sup>) of the \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MODTASTIC THREE<\/span><\/strong>\u201d series will be the regularly scheduled, Lajoie Auto &#038; Scrap Recycling sponsored, second appearance of the open competition  Tour-Type Modified Shoot Outs.<br \/>\n<br \/><!--more--><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: \" New=\"New\" Roman\",\"=\"Roman\",\"\"> \u201cThis is a fantastic opportunity for Thompson fans to see full-blown Modified racing for three  consecutive weeks. Our original intent was to bring back six Modified racing  programs during the season that represented Modified racing the way it use to be.  We wanted to eliminate time trials in these events and present qualifying  heats and, if needed, consolation races to establish the feature event lineups,\u201d said track owner and promoter, Don Hoenig. The feature event races will be short distance, flat out racing affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: \" New=\"New\" Roman\",\"=\"Roman\",\"\"> While these Modified race cars will be the highlight of the next three weeks of racing at  Thompson, the NASCAR Whelen All-American series Super 6 divisions will provide  additional edge-of-the-seat excitement as they do every week. Thompson\u2019s Sunoco Modifieds have had fans talking all season because of the incredible  racing this division has become famous for. Add to that the Super Late Models, Thompson Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stocks and you\u2019ve got a truly great weekly race program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: \" New=\"New\" Roman\",\"=\"Roman\",\"\"> Each of these races is family priced at only $20.00 for adults and $5.00 for juniors ages 6 to 14. Little ones 5  years of age and under are always free at Thompson.
