{"id":2221,"date":"2010-12-07T22:20:02","date_gmt":"2010-12-07T22:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/wp\/?p=2221"},"modified":"2010-12-07T22:20:02","modified_gmt":"2010-12-07T22:20:02","slug":"2011-racing-season-at-lee-usa-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2010\/12\/2011-racing-season-at-lee-usa-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"2011 RACING SEASON AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p \/>LEE, NH &#8211; The Lee USA Speedway announced plans and changes for the 2011<br \/>season at a general meeting for the track held in Rochester, New Hampshire<br \/>on December 4th.\u00a0 The changes were met with a very positive response from<br \/>the 78 race teams that were represented.<\/p>\n<p>Highest on the list of changes discussed for next season was the change to a<br \/>four division format.\u00a0 The Late Models and Road Runners will no longer<br \/>compete at the track, allowing a purse increase for the remaining divisions.<br \/>\n<br \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p> A big part of that purse increase comes through a driver loyalty bonus<br \/>program.\u00a0 The teams who compete regularly at Lee will see a significant<br \/>increase in their payoff, especially for finishing positions outside of the<br \/>top five.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to start taking better care of all of the teams who support us<br \/>every week, not just the ones who finish up front, and this new bonus plan<br \/>does just that,&#8221; stated track Promoter Bob Watson.<\/p>\n<p>The Small Block Super Modifieds will headline the weekly program, with the<br \/>track champion very likely to earn a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for<br \/>the NASCAR Home Tracks Banquet as the New Hampshire State Champion.<\/p>\n<p>Several new teams have expressed interest in competing with the Small Block<br \/>Supers.\u00a0\u00a0 With the Late Models no longer on the schedule, Track Champion<br \/>Wayne Helliwell Jr., will be among the new Small Block Supers entries in a<br \/>car prepared by the Witkum family. Fields of more than 20 cars are now a<br \/>real possibility for 2011, with a eighth place finisher now paying $250 with<br \/>$150 to start the event.<\/p>\n<p>With higher car counts and a new Hoosier &#8220;Spec&#8221; Tire designed specifically<br \/>for the SBS, fans should also expect some better racing from the new<br \/>headline division.\u00a0 The Late Model Sportsman class will also see a<br \/>noticeable change in their purse structure as they compete for a<br \/>championship in the second tier NASCAR Weekly Series standings.<\/p>\n<p>Lee USA strives to give both fans and race teams a better experience each<br \/>season when they attend the track, and more improvements will help insure<br \/>that.\u00a0\u00a0 A new message board with video capabilities is expected to be ready<br \/>for the season opening event.\u00a0\u00a0 A turbin blower machine has also been<br \/>ordered.
