PASS Rookies in Super Late Models, Outlaws and Mods to Compete for Tires<\/span><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

NAPLES<\/span><\/font><\/strong>, ME<\/span><\/font><\/strong> (April 2, 2007)  <\/span><\/font><\/strong>Making the step up to a touring series in racing can be big.  There are bigger headlines, bigger crowds and bigger trophies ready to greet new rookies in a touring series.  Unfortunately, there are often bigger budgets associated with a move up in racing as well.  So every little bit of support helps out.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Newcomers to the Pro All Stars Series in 2007 will now have that little bit of help.  Series officials, along with Northern Race Tire and American Racer tires, announced today a new contingency program for rookies in various PASS divisions.  More than $6,000 in American Racer tires will be given out to rookie competitors this coming season.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The top rookie at each PASS North or South Super Late Model event will be awarded one American Racer tire at the next PASS event.  In addition, the top Rookie of the Year will now look forward to a set of four new tires to be awarded at the next season opener.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The wealth is being spread out in other PASS divisions as well.  PASS Outlaw Late Model rookies will be awarded a $60 coupon towards the purchase of American Racer tires by being the top-placing rookie in each event.  For PASS Modifieds, competitors will go for a $50 coupon under the same criteria.  The top rookies of the season in Outlaws and Modifieds will receive two free tires at next years season opening event.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

This program is all part of a long-term relationship with PASS and Northern Race Tire, said PASS founder and president Tom Mayberry.  We really appreciate what Northern Race Tire and American Racer is doing for our competitors.  Ive run my own racecars, and I know how valuable a program like this is to the racers out there.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Ive known Tom since he was racing, said Northern Race Tires Jack Gerbrands.  Im a believer in what hes built and this is just one way to show that.  This program should help some of the newest PASS competitors out, and I thank American Race Tire for their support in helping us put this together.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

In order to qualify for the program, a team must have a PASS license and have a driver who has not competed in more than 50 percent of the previous years schedule.  Teams must display Northern Race Tire and American Racer decals on their cars and PASS has the final right to accept or decline all Rookie of the Year candidates.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The PASS South Super Late Model schedule kicks off at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) on Saturday, April 7th<\/sup>, for the second annual Easter Bunny 150.  The PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Outlaw Late Models and PASS Modifieds are scheduled to start their season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) on Saturday, April 21st<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
