{"id":4001,"date":"2011-07-04T11:07:04","date_gmt":"2011-07-04T15:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracing.com\/wp\/?p=4001"},"modified":"2011-07-04T11:07:04","modified_gmt":"2011-07-04T15:07:04","slug":"laticrete-port-city-100-modified-race-lee-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2011\/07\/laticrete-port-city-100-modified-race-lee-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"LATICRETE PORT CITY 100 MODIFIED RACE AT LEE FRIDAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canaan, N.H. \u2013 Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH., will host the Valenti<br \/>\nModified Racing Series, Friday night, July 8, with the running of the<br \/>\n\u201cLaticrete Port City 100.\u201d The stars and cars of the New England based<br \/>\ntouring series for modified racecars will be competing for additional<br \/>\nprize money, thanks to the support of sponsor, LATICRETE, for the third<br \/>\nconsecutive year. <\/p>\n<p>LATICRETE is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of<br \/>\ninstallation systems for tile and stone products of all kinds.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWe are proud to once again be a part of this great event,&#8221; stated Maria Oliveira, Corporate Marketing Manager for LATICRETE. Our guests have raved about<br \/>\nthe past two events at Lee, and we expect this event to be more of the same.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers from throughout the Northeast are expected including several with<br \/>\nconnections to the Lee race track, where they once competed weekly.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the list of entries is recent winner and defending two-time series champion<br \/>\nJon McKennedy, of E.Chelmsford,  MA., who returns to his old stomping grounds<br \/>\nwhere he has been successful..<\/p>\n<p>By series rule, the winner of the previous race is required to start the next race in<br \/>\nin the 18th position. McKennedy is looking for a positive result. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lee is a real good track for me. I&#8217;ve won a bunch of races there,\u201d he said. Starting<br \/>\n18th could be a little difficult. The track is really abrasive on tires, so starting that far back is going to be challenging to go forward and save your tires, but it can be done.<br \/>\nA few years ago I won from dead last in the Oktoberfest race.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Louie Mechalides, Tygnsboro, MA.,  Hamsptead, NH\u2019s Andy Seuss, and Nashua,<br \/>\nNH., veteran Norm Wrenn, all former Lee regulars are expected to compete.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Steven Masse, Bellingham. MA., Kirk Alexander.Swanzey,NH.,<br \/>\nTodd Annarummo, Swansea, Ma., Jacob Dore, Sanford, ME., and Kenny Barry,<br \/>\nof Preston, CT., are expected. Barry will debut a brand new racecar at Lee . <\/p>\n<p>A hotly contested points battle for the series championship is ongoing. Rowan<br \/>\nPennink, Huntingdon Valley, PA., holds an eight point lead over Les Hinckley,<br \/>\nWindsor Locks, CT., and a 12-point gap over former series champion, Chris<br \/>\nPasteryak, Lisbon, CT. All three drivers are entered. <\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s race is also the last guaranteed starter event for the July 16 \u201cRicky\u2019s Race<br \/>\nFor Kids\u201d at Canaan Fair Speedway, Canaan, NH.
