NAPLES ME (6\/28) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) will take to the track twice in 24 hours as we celebrate our country\u2019s\u2019 birthday , and both events are guaranteed to <\/span>add a big dose of excitement to <\/span>your <\/span>holiday weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PASS South super late models get the party started on Friday evening July 2nd with a stop at Greenville-Pickens Speedway for the Firecracker 125. <\/span>The venerable facility <\/span>was once a hotbed for southern super late model racing and the stars of PASS South have revived that tradition for the appreciative and knowledgeable fans that frequent <\/span>the track. David Pearson, Ralph Earnhardt Sr., Robert Pressley, and Pete Silva are but a few of the well known racers that have captured Greenville-Pickens Championships.

\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Jay Fogleman claimed the 2009 edition of the Firecracker 125, and he\u2019ll be looking for his first win of 2010 when the PASS road show roll s into town for their lone 2010 appearance at the speedway. Preston Peltier maintains his point lead over Ryan Blaney (1502-1458) but Andy Loden is sneaking up on the top two. He\u2019s just four back from Blaney at 1454. Jay Fogleman (1436) and Heath Hindman (1386) are fourth and fifth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Allison Legacy series and Greenville-Pickens\u2019 own Chargers and Renegades will complete a rock\u2019em sock\u2019em night <\/span> <\/span>of short track excitement. Time trials roll off at 6:00 PM, heat racing goes green at 7:15 PM and the popular driver meet and greet is scheduled for approximately 7:30 \u2013 8:00 PM. <\/span>Feature racing gets underway right after the meet and greet and when the on track fireworks are over the night skies will light up with a traditional Fourth of July weekend fireworks display. <\/span>Greenville-Pickens Speedway is online at www.greenvillepickens.com<\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n

If you check the driving distance from Greenville-Pickens to New Hampshire\u2019s Canaan Fair Speedway, you will learn that the two are approximately 1027 miles apart. <\/span>But the Pro All Stars officials will be traveling through the night, making their way to the awesome Canaan Fair asphalt for the speedway\u2019s biggest event of the summer. <\/span><\/p>\n

Presented by Northeast Waste Services, <\/span><\/span>95.3FM the Wolf, Q106 <\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span> Noise \u201cR\u201d Us Fireworks and, Courtyard by Marriott, the Fourth of July Spectacular is a motorsports extravaganza that offers something for everyone. PASS North super late models for 150 green flag laps plus <\/span>the PASS Mods and <\/span>Canaan Fair\u2019s own <\/span>S<\/span><\/span>uper Streets, Pure Stocks, Bandits and Daredevils <\/span>will all take to the oval plus there are Monster Trucks and a fantastic fireworks display to top off the evening. Point Leader Johnny Clark and runner-up Ben Rowe are separated by just nine markers in their drives for five PASS North Championships. Cassius Clark, Trevor Sanborn and Scott Chubbuck are all looking to gain ground on the top two on Saturday.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s an interesting competition going on between PASS South\u2019s Andy Loden and PASS North\u2019s Johnny Clark. Each driver has a winning streak going with three consecutive PASS victories in their respective series. They\u2019re tied with some mighty talented racers for that distinction. PASS North record holder Ben Rowe accomplished the feat twice in 2001 and once in both 2003 and 2006. Inaugural PASS North Champion Sam Sessions went on a tear in 2002, winning three in a row and four out of five. PASS South racer Corey Williams shares the 3 win PASS South record with Loden, earning his three in a row during his great 2007 season. Loden will get his shot at the record first at Greenville-Pickens on Friday night, and Johnny Clark will have an opportunity to either set or tie the record on Saturday at Canaan Fair Speedway. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
