Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile 200 Will Feature Best Racers From Two Countries<\/span><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

NAPLES<\/span><\/font><\/strong>, ME (June 8, 2007) – <\/span><\/font><\/strong>What for a great racing weekend?   Great competition?  Great fans?  A great facility?<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

When the PASS North Super Late Models head North of the Border for the June 23rd<\/sup> Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile 200 at Scotia Speedworld in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the event will have all three ingredients.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For starters, the entry list will be stocked with talent.  PASS North regulars Johnny Clark, Ben Rowe, Mike Rowe, Richie Dearborn, Cassius Clark, Travis Benjamin, Joey Porciello, Derek Ramstrom and Trevor Sanborn are all expected to make the trip.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

In addition, several of the best Super Late Model drivers in the Canadian Maritimes will be entering the race.  You can expect to see guys like John Flemming, Lonnie Sommerville, Donald Chisholm and Rollie MacDonald attend.  <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

You can expect that both camps of drivers will be strong in the race.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“It’s fun racing with those guys,” said Mike Rowe of his Canadian counterparts.  “They all go good there.  There are five or six of the Canadian guys who run just as well as we do.  If you can win up there, you feel like you’ve accomplished something.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Then there are the fans.  Followers of Canadian short track racing are a different breed.  They enjoy a great race and will pack the house to show their support.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“The fans are great,” said Richie Dearborn.  “After the race, they are all over you.  They won’t let you out of the car.  You can’t get to the trailer quick enough to change.  But that’s good.  It’s just an awesome experience.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“The fans are just awesome up there,” said Rowe.  “It’s a great place to go, and they really welcome us up there.  It’s just a great place.” <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Finally, there is the track itself.  Scotia is a unique facility with 17 years of great racing in its past.  The track is 3\/10th<\/sup> of a mile and showcases both handling and raw speed.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“You’ve got long straightways and tight corners,” said Rowe.  “It’s a challenging track.  You’ve got to handle pretty good up there.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“It’s different,” said Dearborn.  “It’s rough and tight, and we’re used to racing on that type of track.  It’s a neat little track, but it is really different from anywhere else that we run at.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Both Rowe and Dearborn can be considered among the early favorites in the Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile 200.  They both always run strong at Scotia and are ranked within the top four of the current PASS North standings.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“I sure have had some good runs up there,” said Rowe.  “We’ve got the car handling good up there.  We were running second in our last race there when we broke a rear end.  We’ve had good success up there and hope to have some more this time.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

“Last year, we were running second in the 250 and came in for a green-flag stop,” said Dearborn.  “We had somebody else jacking the car and got messed up.”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The PASS North Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile 200 at Scotia Speedworld is scheduled for Saturday, June 23rd<\/sup>.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The 2007 PASS Super Late Model schedules will be highlighted by two major fall events.  The PASS 400 weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) is set for September 23rd<\/sup>-24th<\/sup> and the Second Annual Mason-Dixon Meltdown is scheduled for Concord Motorsport Park on November 16th<\/sup>-17th<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
