LOUDON, N.H. (June 19, 2012) \u2013 Imagine having the opportunity to hang out in the Celtics locker room before they take the court at the TD Garden. Or how about a quick run around the bases at Fenway Park minutes before the first pitch. New Hampshire Motor Speedway has provided fans with this opportunity when it comes to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.<\/p>\n

The speedway increased its \u201cpre-race pit pass\u201d allowance by 300 percent for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July 15 and the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 23, and fans didn\u2019t waste any time for their opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite drivers and teams.
\n <\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to go the extra mile to provide our fans with more opportunities to get as close to the action as possible,\u201d said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. \u201cNew Englanders have a passion for sports that is second to none, and the record number and prompt sellout of pre-race pit passes is another example of that enthusiasm.\u201d<\/p>\n

To accommodate the record-setting infield attendance, the speedway has allotted for additional crossover gates to be constructed on the frontstretch. This will provide fans with easier and faster access to the grandstands once it\u2019s time to go racing. The speedway has also changed the location of where Sprint Cup teams will prepare for the races. After nearly two decades of heading to the north end, drivers will take center stage in the infield\u2019s center garage, a change that will make life easier for fans and teams alike.<\/p>\n

The pre-race pit pass allows fans to experience pit road from a crew member\u2019s perspective before the big race and stand in front of the stage for July\u2019s featured concert with Southern Rock Group the Marshall Tucker Band. Pre-race pit passes are valid until one hour prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.<\/p>\n
