Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, returns to the site of his first career PASS North Series victory for the SouthernMaineMotors.com 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 7. Doiron dominated the season-opening 150-lap event at Beech Ridge back in May, and the driver of the No. 73 JBJ Machine\/Scarborough Downs Chevrolet is eager to get back to the .333-mile oval. Doiron is third in the series standings through six races \u2013 one of only three drivers to post five Top-10 finishes this season \u2013 and would like to contend for the victory Saturday to help close the 34-point gap to the current point leader. On a similarly-sized race track at Canaan Fair Speedway last weekend, Doiron was disappointed to finish 10th and is hoping to rebound from that at Beech Ridge.

THE FACTS<\/strong> PASS North Series<\/strong> DID YOU KNOW?<\/strong> WHAT THEY ARE SAYING<\/strong> On whether he feels like he needs to ‘rebound’ after last weekend at Canaan Fair Speedway: \u201cIt was probably our worst run of the year… but we’ll sum it up by saying it was all my fault. We’ll pack it up and we’ll go to Beech Ridge, and I definitely know my way around there. We won’t be having any rookie mistakes there, hopefully.\u201d<\/p>\n On if he can repeat his performance from May at Beech Ridge this time around: \u201cIt’s going to be a little bit different with the hot temperatures compared to what he had (in May), but it’s still Beech Ridge. Everybody else seems to think it changes every week, but for us the same setup seems to work pretty good. So, we’ll keep going back with the same stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n On if he’s surprised to be in the thick of the championship battle as the season reaches its halfway point at Beech Ridge: \u201cIt’s been a phenomenal year so far. We can’t really complain. We said all along our goal was to win a race, so everything else from here on out is a bonus.
