Crazy Horse Racing Enjoys Great Day In TD Bank 250
\nTwo CHR Teams Finish In Top-5 Of 39th Annual Oxford 250<\/h2>\n

OXFORD, Maine \u2013 Two Crazy Horse Racing teams finished in the Top-5 in Sunday’s 39th Annual TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine.<\/p>\n

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished third in the nation’s premier one-day Late Model event, while Oxford Plains Speedway Late Model point leader Travis Stearns of Auburn, Maine, finished fifth. They were part of a contingent of five Crazy Horse Racing teams to finish inside the Top-20 Sunday.
\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe car was awesome,\u201d said Theriault, who went from 13th to third over the final 42 laps of the event following the race’s final restart. \u201cWe were awesome there on the first set of tires, and I thought we had something. I knew if we had another 15-20 laps, we’d be right up there. We’ll try again next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theriault, a Brad Keselowski Racing development driver, was debuting a new 2012 Crazy Horse Racing chassis for the event. It was his second straight Top-3 finish in the TD Bank 250, one year after becoming the youngest podium finisher in the race’s history.<\/p>\n

Theriault also won his qualifying race Sunday, one of six drivers to do so to start sixth in the 39-car field.<\/p>\n

Stearns has two wins in weekly competition at Oxford Plains this season and no finish of worse than sixth in seven points races. He started in the final row in his 12-car heat race and rallied to finish fourth \u2013 the final qualifying spot \u2013 off the final corner of the 15-lap event.<\/p>\n

Though Stearns had started 21st on the grid, he was running inside the Top-5 by the halfway mark of the race \u2013 even with the benefit of only one caution period prior to Lap 135.<\/p>\n

Theriault and Stearns weren’t the only two Crazy Horse Racing representatives to run well on Sunday. Scott Luce finished 12th, and Gary Chiasson ran an impressive 19th at the checkered flag. 2011 Oxford Plains Rookie of the Year Chris Coolidge qualified for his first TD Bank 250 and finished 20th.<\/p>\n

The ACT Late Model Tour returns to action this Saturday night, only a few miles from Oxford at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guys worked their butts off (at Oxford), and I’m looking forward to Beech Ridge,\u201d said Theriault, who is fourth in the ACT standings and finished fifth at Beech Ridge last year. \u201cI think we can get some more speed out of that car.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
