{"id":874,"date":"2009-05-25T21:41:40","date_gmt":"2009-05-25T21:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/wp\/?p=874"},"modified":"2009-05-25T21:41:40","modified_gmt":"2009-05-25T21:41:40","slug":"may-22nd-race-results-for-lee-usa-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/2009\/05\/may-22nd-race-results-for-lee-usa-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"MAY 22nd RACE RESULTS FOR LEE USA SPEEDWAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\">Lee, NH &#8211; Lee USA Speedway put another weekly show in the record books last<br \/>Friday night, with Bobby Baillargeon picking up his first win of the year in<br \/>the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Baillargeon opened up the night with a strong run to win his qualifier and<br \/>he was no less impressive in the feature, outrunning polesitter Dean Weber<br \/>to take the lead when the E Keys for Cars Late Model 50-lapper went green.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Once Baillargeon cleared Weber, he moved out to open up a comfortable lead,<br \/>but after the first 39 laps of the race going caution-free, he lost a<br \/>comfortable advantage when the yellow waved for a tangle involving point<br \/>leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Jeffrey Labrecque, Jr. ran second on the restart, but he quickly lost the<br \/>spot to Mike Johnson, as Helliwell once again found trouble on the<br \/>backstretch, bringing caution on the field with 42 laps in the record books.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Johnson had his hands full with Bryan Kruczek when racing resumed, and while<br \/>they battled for the second spot, Baillargeon pulled way to easily score the<br \/>win.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Kruczek moved up in the late laps to claim second at the checkers, with<br \/>Johnson, A.J. Begin, Geoff Rollins, Weber, Labrecque, Jeremy Harclerode, and<br \/>Helliwell rounding out the top ten.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Grant Aither once again took top honors in the Primer Storage Late Model<br \/>Sportsmen, holding off a stellar field for his second win of the year.&nbsp; Pete<br \/>Evans jumped out to the early lead, but contact with Jess Bousquet sent him<br \/>spinning out of contention on lap six.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Bousquet picked up the lead on the restart, but Aither was right there with<br \/>him, and he moved past on the outside on lap eight to take his turn out<br \/>front.&nbsp; Aither was in command the rest of the way, leading them under the<br \/>checkers to score his second win of the year.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Jimmy Renfrew came on strong late in the race to collect runner-up honors,<br \/>with Bobby Melvin, Bousquet, Brian Grantz, Bill Ahern, Ryan Green, Evans,<br \/>and Michele Fushpanski, Frankie Eldredge rounding out the top ten.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Small Block Supers had the night off, with the first round of the<br \/>Bot-L-Gas, RF Logic Triple Crown Series for the Pro-4 Modifieds added to the<br \/>program in their place.&nbsp; Brian Vincent grabbed the early lead, but Cory<br \/>Cleary quickly hunted him down and took over the top spot.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&quot;Stormin&#39; Norman&quot; Wrenn started deep in the field, but he caught Cleary with<br \/>the laps winding down, and he moved to the lead with the white flag in the<br \/>air.&nbsp; Wrenn took the checkers at the head of the field, with Cleary,<br \/>Vincent, Jeff Zuidema, and Stan Mertz the rest of the top five.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Veteran Bobby Glass grabbed the lead when the planet Aid Hobby Stocks took<br \/>the green from guest flagman John Spence, Jr., and he never looked back on<br \/>his way to the winner&#39;s circle.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Ron Washburn and Kenny Scott challenged for the lead early in the race, but<br \/>Glass was off and running from the start.&nbsp; Jimmy Renfrew joined the fun late<br \/>in the race, but Glass was comfortably out front and went on to score the<br \/>win.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Washburn collected runner-up honors, with Renfrew, Jim Shorey, Scott, Jimmy<br \/>Russell, Dennis Dumas, Chris Titcomb, Todd Bregy, and Chris Kingsley the<br \/>rest of the top ten.&nbsp; Bregy topped the Hobby Stock &quot;Dash for Cash&quot;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Aaron Day outran polesitter James Fitzgerald to grab the early lead in the<br \/>David&#39;s Race Cars and Components Roadrunner feature event, but Anthony<br \/>Nadeau moved past Day to take over the point on lap three.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">It was a done deal from there, as Nadeau went the distance to score his<br \/>first win of the year.&nbsp; Steve Nichols settled for second, with Niko Manyati,<br \/>Jim Piaseczny, Loren Smith, Cris King, Shaun Waites, Jr., Day, Chris<br \/>Harding, and Justin King the rest of the top ten.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Kevin Emery made it three winners in three races for the Ironmen, outrunning<br \/>Warren Harvey, Tom Harton, Crystal Brown, and Kale Billings to pick up the<br \/>victory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lee, NH &#8211; Lee USA Speedway put another weekly show in the record books lastFriday night, with Bobby Baillargeon picking up his first win of the year inthe NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-874","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-new-england-racing-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/874","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=874"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/874\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=874"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=874"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/maineracing.com\/legacy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=874"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
