ACT 2016 TITLE HOPES HEAD TO BEECH RIDGE MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Waterbury, VT – The chase for the 2016 American Canadian Tour (ACT) Championship heads to the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine this Saturday for event number ten (10) of the 2016 season. Following the 150-lap White Mountain Motorsports Park event, there are only fourteen (14) points separating the current point leader. Nick Sweet, (Barre, VT), from Scott Payea, (Milton, VT), and Rowley, Massachusetts’ Eddie MacDonald sits in third, just nineteen points (19) points behind Payea. It will be the first of two events to be held in 2016 at the third mile coastal speed-plant, one of the favorite stops for teams on the ACT US series. [The ACT Fall Foliage 200 will join the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) on September 17 & 18 for the annual PASS 300 event at the 1/3 mile.]
In the previous nine events when the ACT teams have visited Beech Ridge there has never been a repeat winner. Two of the current top three in points, Sweet and MacDonald, each have a win at the ‘Ridge during that time.
Benjamin gets first PASS win this year in Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
Scarborough, Maine – Travis Benjamin of Morrill nailed down his first Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model win of the season Tuesday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway’s Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150. It was the first victory for Benjamin with the Petit Motorsports team he joined this season.
Benjamin was in control both early and late in the 150-lap event, battling several competitors for position through the middle stages of the race. At the end it was hometown Scarborough racer Garrett Hall pushing Benjamin across the finish line, falling just short of claiming his third win this year on the series.
Both Hall and third-place finisher Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire mounted serious challenges to Benjamin’s lead, especially on restarts. Former Beech Ridge track champion Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay led a healthy portion of the race, looking like a serious threat to score his first-ever PASS triumph en route to a fourth-place finish.
Beech Ridge Next On Tap For PASS North Stars

NAPLES, ME (July 6) – After a weekend that saw three drivers punch their tickets to the 43rd Annual HP Hood Oxford 250, a full field of Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models will be back on track this weekend for the Southern Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
Hermon, ME’s Mike Hopkins leads the championship standings by just five points over 2014 PASS North champion, DJ Shaw, who won the most recent series event at Beech Ridge earlier this year. But, two drivers with a lot of experience at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway could be the favorites on Saturday night. Hometown hero Garrett Hall is the only driver to win more than one PASS North Super Late Model event in 2016. And, defending PASS National Champion, Joey Doiron, has gone to victory lane at Beech Ridge with the series in recent years.
After enduring a tough start to the 2016 season, which saw Doiron involved in crashes at Hickory Motor Speedway and Star Speedway, Doiron and the JBJ Machine Shop team decided to step back and concentrate their efforts on events at Beech Ridge and Oxford. Since then, Doiron has won the last two weekly events at Beech Ridge and enters Saturday night’s Southern Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 150 as the track’s hottest driver.

Scarborough, Maine — DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire drove from third position to first on a restart with four laps remaining in Saturday’s Southern Maine Chrysler Jeep Dodge 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway to nail down his first Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model win of the season.
Shaw, the 2014 PASS North Super Late Model champion, watched Doiron blast on by earlier in the race after the Berwick, Maine driver, and eventual runner-up, charged from his 14th starting position into a lead threatened only by hometown racer Garrett Hall – the opening day PASS Super Late Model winner at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway until the final pair of restarts took place, with six and four laps remaining, respectively.
Shaw had been a healthy distance behind Doiron aboard his Dale Shaw Race Cars / HK Powersports 60, but the once-dominant JBJ Machine 73 didn’t have the handles on cold tires. That opened the door for Shaw, who stepped through and into victory lane.
