Thurlow, Cook take $500 Twin Enduro wins, Berry repeats
in Spectator Drags at final Motor Mayhem of 2007 season

OXFORD, Maine – David Thurlow somewhat covertly crept through the field in a black station wagon during his Enduro event Sunday at Oxford Plains Speedway. David Cook took command from the first sight of green from the flagstand.

Hall, Ireland only ones to beat rain

Hall, Ireland only ones to beat rain, lightning;
It's double features for Championship Night next week

OXFORD, Maine – Lightning and impending heavy rain caused postponement of Saturday night's Championship Series event at Oxford Plains Speedway on lap 8 of the Mini Stock feature.

Grover Gundrilling Championship Night will feature the completion of that race, plus the Strictly and Late Model features, followed by regularly scheduled heats and features for all three divisions. The program will begin at the regular time of 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Rain checks may not be used, as we had already completed eight full races.
Prior to the opening skies, Quick Super Cup Series drivers Fred Ireland and Rich Hall won twin 20-lap feature races for the touring division. Hall is a former Mini Cup champion and Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel competitor in the Oxford Acceleration Series.

Ballard has won more features than all but one other driver in the division since 1999, rarely missing a race and almost always finishing in the top five or top 10 in the series standings. But he'd never won a championship until Wednesday night.

Perley aces New England Dodge Dealers Maine Classic; Skip Tripp's Strictly Stock streak hits fantastic four

OXFORD, Maine – Chris Perley can swap cars, start in mid-pack, wait out a couple red flags and encounter slower traffic running two or three lanes deep in front of him. This year, and in most every other season with the International Supermodified Association, it just doesn’t matter.
Perley, the vaunted “Rowley Rocket” from the northeastern corridor of Massachusetts, became the all-time winner in ISMA history Saturday night, dominating the New England Dodge Dealers Maine Classic at Oxford Plains Speedway.
