Story by Chris Roy
Addie McDaniel of Bridgton, Maine, will be back in the #56 racing in the Rebels and Bandits Series at Oxford Plains Speedway. Addie has been keeping busy during the off season. “This off season I’ve been mainly finishing school, working, and enjoying the snow. Not too much racecar stuff going on right now.”
April 22nd is the first day of race season at OPS, “This year I’ll be running Rebels on Wednesday nights full time. Also depending on when I get my bandit straightened back out, we’ll be back on Saturday nights with that car (probably around mid to late season) I also have a surprise in store for 2018 that I can’t spill yet! Last year, I raced bandits full time getting 10th in points (missing 9th by 1 point!) and got to try the new rebel and finished 3rd in a heat before I lost the alternator and couldn’t make the feature.”
Dana Cook, Caleb Emerson-Mains among Armageddon of Destruction winners at Oxford Plains Speedway
Oxford, Maine — Richmond’s Caleb Emerson-Mains scored an impressive 25-lap victory Sunday afternoon, highlighting the Armageddon of Destruction stock car racing card at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Emerson-Mains would have seen a fair share of action in his mirror if he was looking there, as there were a few anxious rivals having difficulties with fellow competitors on a few occasions. Veteran racer Ron Moon of North Yarmouth put the exclamation point on his championship season with a runner-up finish.

Oxford, ME — Curtis Gerry of Waterboro nailed down his second PASS Super Late Model win this season at Oxford Plains Speedway Saturday afternoon, while his closest on-track rival, Travis Benjamin of Belfast, riding a runner-up finish to nail down his second career PASS North championship.
Gerry, who added his name to the lists of Legends by winning the 44th Annual Oxford 250 back in August, had the best season of his career hot on the heels of what was previously his best year ever in 2016.
The Saco House of Pizza 7 and Gerry methodically cruised into contention from 12th starting position as Ben Rowe, Tracy Gordon, Dave Farrington and Joey Doiron took turns setting the race pace, with Brandon Barker also a notable early factor.

16-Year-Old Ossipee Native Zach Nicholson Makes Strides at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway

story by Amy Harrop
Written By: Amy Harrop
Coming out of a successful 2016 racing season where he earned “Rookie of the Year” honors at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in the Wildcats division, Zach Nicholson still had many goals in mind as he entered his sophomore season in 2017. Although 2016 was a good year for the young driver, he still wanted more. What was the top goal on his list? A feature victory in 2017. After an entire season full of ups and downs, Zach Nicholson finally captured his first feature victory in an accident-ridden 30-lap feature on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine.
Coming into the night, Zach had clearly made his mark at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, earning himself 9 top-5 finishes in 13 weeks of competition. The orange and blue #21 was a consistent figure at the front of the pack each and every week, fighting for position. Like all drivers do, Zach did have some tough weeks, including being caught up in a frightening wreck in turn 3 on July 22nd, a wreck that led to him being transported to Maine Medical Center with a sprained ankle. No matter what happens to him out on the track, Zach never gives up. After his wreck, he brushed himself off and returned to competition the very next week; only to take home yet another top-5 finish in his division. Due to his many qualifying heat race victories over the course of the season, people started to deem Zach as the “Heat Race Hero”. This motivated him to work harder to finally secure that first career victory he had been longing for for two years.
