REID LANPHER WINS SPEEDWAY HOMES 150 PRO ALL STARS SERIES RACE AT OXFORD PLAINS SPEEDWAY

Oxford, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester earned a first-ever Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model win Sunday afternoon in the Speedway Homes 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Lanpher won the first heat race to earn the first starting position in the lid lifter at the historic oval track on State Route 26, but it was no easy romp to the winner’s circle for the young racer, who swapped the lead with both Turner’s Glen Luce and Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire after a couple of restarts.

Polewarczyk, a multi-race PASS winner in part-time competition the previous season, looked trong once in front of the field, but about ten laps past the event’s halfway point, Polewarczyk’s race came to a smoky end with severe mechanical difficulties.  Lanpher reclaimed the lead and battled most of the rest of the distance with Luce, the 2015 Oxford 250 champion.

With Lanpher in command through the closing laps, 2016 Maritimes Pro Stock Champion Cole Butcher of Porters Lake, Nova Scotia finished off an impressive change from 26th starting position to claim runner-up honors.  Butcher looked strong running inside of outside of the competition in the stout, 40-car starting field.

Story by Chris Roy

Travis will be racing the #6 car sponsored by Spurwink, Northeast Log Sales, LLC., Heavy MD LLC, The Autism Society of Maine, in the weekly Budweiser Super Late Models Series at OPS.

Travis has been keeping busy in the off season. “Besides running my school and preparing the race car for the 2017 race season, I have introduced my 12 year old son, Ethan Dunbar, to Kart racing down at Southern Maine Karting in Scarborough. He took the class and passed it and then was able to race against myself and Jason Simard, pit crew member, and he only finished five seconds behind myself and two seconds behind Jason. Prior to this, Ethan had only driven our lawn tractor and had backed it into a tree, so I was kind of sweating it out, but he did really well and was much better than a lot of the boys in his class. The funny thing is, he then asked me, “Daddy, can I drive your pro stock now?” My response was, “yeah, probably not now buddy.”

Northwest Qualifiers For Oxford And Hickory, Entry Forms, And Lap Boards Keep PASS Busy

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 15) – Although the 2017 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) season is barely under way, North America’s most prominent Super Late Model tour is already looking towards two of the biggest events of the year, the 44th Annual Oxford 250 in August and the recently announced Mason-Dixon MegaMeltdown 300 in November. Today officials from PASS, the Northwest Super Late Model Series, and Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval (WVSO) announced that two events at the Washington State speedway will serve as qualifiers for each of the premier events in PASS.

“I met Tom [Mayberry] at North Wilkesboro about five years ago and since then we have become good friends and shared a lot of late night talks while on the road traveling,” said Garrett Evans, a multi-time Super Late Model champion in the Northwest. “It was a great honor to have the PASS Northwest Triple Crown at WVSO, my hometown track, a few years ago. The timing wasn’t right for a series in our area then, but I feel things are getting closer for PASS to possibly return next year.”
