Saturday night Wiscasset Speedway hosted Group 1 Fan Appreciation Night with the help of Mainely Motorsports TV. Along with the usual pre-race driver autograph session and kids bike races, the two organizations combined forces to help race sponsor Bozzutos Inc raise money for Maine Special Olympics through their Hometown Foundation. Over 70 Special Olympians were in attendance as the sponsor’s special guest, but 12 of them got a treat as they were chosen to help present trophies to the drivers in victory lane. Wiscasset Speedway Results 9/2/2017
Wiscasset Speedway was back in action Saturday night. Group 2 took center stage with regular action in all divisions plus the special Dave’s World Dash For Cash for the Late Model Sportsman. battles are coming into shape with just a month left in the 2017 season.
The Kennebec Equipment Rental Outlaw Minis were the spotlight division with a 35 lap feature. Just one caution slowed the action as the top three drivers in the class took control. Point leader #26 Brent Roy picked his way up from his 6th starting spot to claim the lead on lap 15 and drive to his 3rd victory of the season. Division runner-up Jake Hendsbee #27 kept Roy in his site but had to settle for the 2nd place trophy. 4-time champ Rob Greenleaf #2x finished 3rd.
