King Wins Pro Stock Crown
Wiscasset, ME- The final point’s night at Wiscasset Raceway was a great one. There was a great sponsor, Team Woody’s. Great Fan’s, hundreds of them and above all, great racing action. The Clark’s Car Crushing Pro-Stock title was won by Scott King who finished fifth in the race. The title was King’s first in his 13 year racing career. Chuck Colby won the feature event with Scott Moore hot on his heels and Randy Turner not far behind in third. Fourth went to Gary Smith.
Alex Waltzs Into Victory Lane at Wiscasset
Wiscasset, ME- Saturday night at Wiscasset Raceway was not only special because it was sponsored by J.C. Stone and Harold C. Ralph Chevrolet but because a rookie driver picked up his first career win. Alex Waltz was been fighting hard all season with some of the best in the business and Saturday night crossed the stripe in front of them all. Waltz won the 20 lap New England Transmissions Strictly Street feature. He held off Ian Bresnehan and Mike Moody for the victory. Jamie Henderson would finish fourth and Wally Henderson fifth.
Colby Tops Clarks Car Crushing Pro-Stocks
Wiscasset, ME- Chuck Colby is no stranger to victory lane at Wiscasset Raceway. Chuck has already visited Soule’s Auto Supply victory lane on more then one occasion this year and a countless number in years past. Saturday night however could have been one of the hardest battles Colby has had to fight to get there. Chuck held off Travis Benjamin over the closing laps to pick up the win. Benjamin would however finish second but he to had to work for the strong finish as he had Scott Chubbuck hot on his heels. 2008 division champion Randy Turner finished fourth and Jeff Burgess fifth.
Brian Fortin First win at Wiscasset
Wiscasset, ME- South China’s Brian Fortin has been racing since 2002. He started in the Mini Stock ranks where he had many feature wins and a countless number of trophies. When it was time to move up Brian decided to buy a Verizon Wireless Super Street. In his rookie year Brian picked up a feature victory but it was due to a failed post race inspection. The same thing had happened to Brian year after year and even already in 2009. However Motor Supply night at Wiscasset Raceway changed all of that. Fortin showed he could win on the track leading all 25 laps of the super street race. Ed Drake of Vassalboro finished second with Bryan Robbins bringing back the #51 to finish third. 2007 champion Bernie Dinsmore came back after being involved in a early race caution to finish fourth. Jason Gaboury would finish fifth.
