LEE, N.H. — The first demolition derby in the 33-year history of Lee USA Speedway highlights a special multi-event “Night of Destruction” program Saturday. Youngsters will have Big Wheel and Power Wheel races starting at 5 p.m. with medalions going to the top finishers.
Six and eight-cylinder car demo qualifying heats will be followed by spectator drag races open to fans in their own cars. A four-cylinder car enduro feature event will be run along with a “Flag Pole” 10-lap event, where cars go around the track and a large obstacle tire on the speedway.
Two demolition derbies will be on the program, one for six and eight-cylinder cars and another for four-cylinder compacts. Each demolition derby will run until only one car remains running in the crashfest.
The six and-eight-cylinder demo winner will get $2,000 while the four-cylinder demo champion gets $1,200.
Admission gates and the box office opens at 3:30 p.m. with enduro practice at 4:30 p.m.
