LEE, NH: Season point championships, approximately $26,000 in prize and point money, plus five feature races all highlight the final night race of the 2017 season this Friday here at Lee USA Speedway.
Super-modifieds, late model sportsmen, pure stocks, hobby stocks and Ironmen stocks all will be in action along with the championship showdown spectator race, offering a hugh trophy to the winner.
Dave Helliwell, of Salem, N.H., has a commanding lead in the winged super-modified division driving the No.21 Witkum Brothers car from Salisbury. However, the 30-lap feature will decide plenty of point money from second place through 12th in the 2017 standings.
Leslie Keyser, Raymond, N.H., Mike Keddy, also of Raymond, John Burke, of Derry, and veteran Moe Lattime, of Kingston, are just 30 points apart running second through fifth going into Friday night. Groveland’s Pat Murphy, Mike Spurling, of Rochester, and Jim Barker are next, only 19 points apart. Tommy Tombarello, Mike Netishen, Mike Murphy and Mike Scott are in spoiler
roles.
Frankie Eldredge, of Stratham, has a 43-point lead in the late model sportsmen division but only 30 points separate second through fifth between Bryan Kruczek, Jay Sands, Kris Miller and Jimmy Russell.
A 30-lap feature will be run in the late models and a 25-lap feature will determine the hobby stock title with Boe Green, Berwick, Maine, leading Pelham’s Paul Palen by 20 points.
Christin Destefano of Tewksbury has a one-point lead in the Ironmen class over Travis Hollis, of Milford, and Adam Knowles of Seabrook is only 19 off the pace.
Tyler Mailhot; Anthony Nadeau and John Boomhower make up the top three in the Pure Stock class with a 20-lap main event determining that title.
Friday night’s season finale starts at 7pm with practice starting
at 5pm.
