Lee USA Speedway prepares for huge Oktoberfest weekend

LEE, NH:  Plans continue to develop for the season-ending 34th annual

Oktoberfest of Racing here at Lee USA Speedway with a $50,000 purse announced this week for the 10-division program Saturday and Sunday, October 7th-8th.

Drivers and cars from various New England speedways will be joining the Lee regulars for the traditional special season finale.

Super-modifieds, the Valenti modified tour and pro stocks lead the list of well over 200 race cars expected for the full 22-race program on Saturday, with practice at noon, and eight feature races on Sunday with the green flag at noon.

NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION

LEE, N.H. — The first demolition derby in the 33-year history of Lee USA Speedway highlights a special multi-event “Night of Destruction” program Saturday. Youngsters will have Big Wheel and Power Wheel races starting at 5 p.m. with medalions going to the top finishers.

Six and eight-cylinder car demo qualifying heats will be followed by spectator drag races open to fans in their own cars. A four-cylinder car enduro feature event will be run along with a “Flag Pole” 10-lap event, where cars go around the track and a large obstacle tire on the speedway.

Lee USA Speedway 9/15/17 Race Report

Lee, NH – The final Friday night race of the 2017 season determined the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series championships at Lee USA Speedway, with “Hollywood” Dave Helliwell of Salem celebrating his second consecutive Rodfather Supermodified title aboard the Witkum Brother Racing machine.

Tyler Mailhot of Epping also picked up his second straight championship in the MLM Diagnostics Pure Stocks, while Frankie Eldredge of Exeter claimed his career-first in the R & R “The Tool Store and More” Late Model Sportsmen.

Veteran Boe Green of Berwick, ME captured the David’s Race Cars and Components crown, and Tewksbury, MA racer Christin DeStefano booked her seat at the head table for the annual “Banquet of Champions” by taking home the championship in the Tri City Line-X Ironman division.

Season Championships, $26,000 on line in final Friday night races of 2017

LEE, NH:  Season point championships, approximately $26,000 in prize and point money, plus five feature races all highlight the final night race of the 2017 season this Friday here at Lee USA Speedway.

Super-modifieds, late model sportsmen, pure stocks, hobby stocks and Ironmen stocks all will be in action along with the championship showdown spectator race, offering a hugh trophy to the winner.

Dave Helliwell, of Salem, N.H., has a commanding lead in the winged super-modified division driving the No.21 Witkum Brothers car from Salisbury. However, the 30-lap feature will decide plenty of point money from second place through 12th in the 2017 standings.

Lee USA Speedway 9/8/17 Race Report

Lee, NH – The David’s Race Cars and Components NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Hobby Stocks took center stage once again at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, running a special 47-lap main event honoring the career of longtime competitor Johnny Durant, who raced to the championship in the Hobbies 25 years ago in the 1992 season.

The now-retired champ shared the flagstand with starter Steve Gran to drop the green flag on the extra-distance run, with Lebanon, ME driver Jake Michaud breaking out to the early lead.  Michaud set the pace through a couple of early-race caution periods, and he stayed out front through lap 14.

LEE HOSTS SPECIAL HOBBY STOCK FEATURE EVENT THIS FRIDAY NIGHT.

LEE, NH:  A special 47-lap hobby stock feature race will highlight a 12-race program thisFriday night at Lee USA Speedway.

 

The Johnny Durant 47 honoring former driver and track official John Durant, of NorthHampton, NH, is on tap for hobby stocks following qualifying heats.

 

The hobby stock season point championship is on the line with Boe Green, Berwick,Maine, leading Paul Palen, of Pelham, NH, by just 20 points. Ryan Green, the point leader’s son, is third with Jimmy Renfrew Jr. and Patrick Tanguay the next three in order, only a few pointsapart.
