Series to honor the late series co-founder John Hoyt
WINCHESTER, NH — The Granite State Pro Stock Series will make their second attempt to run the John Hoyt Memorial JBH 100 on Saturday, September 8 at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH. The event was rained out after practice on August 4.
Hoyt was in the midst of forging the series with Mike Parks when he unexpectedly passed away in July of 2011.
Bobby Cabral leads the Granite State Pro Stock Series into the JBH 100 as the series point leader. The East Kingston, NH veteran has scored one win and top-five finishes in each of the series four events in 2012 and holds a 22 point margin over Bobby Baillargeon.
Baillargeon, of Kingston, NH, scored his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win in the most recent race, held at Hudson Speedway. The win allowed Baillargeon to shave nearly ten points off of his deficit to Cabral.
Fifteen-year-old Derek Griffith earned a second place finish in his first career Pro Stock start in the series first race at Monadnock Speedway. Griffith, of Hudson, NH, currently sits six points out of the fifth spot in the championship battle.
Rich Eaton of Seabrook, NH has earned two top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish one race ago at Hudson Speedway, and sits 26 points behind Cabral. Parks, of Walople, NH, sits fourth in the series standings after he rebounded from engine issues at Star Speedway to finish fifth at Hudson.
Former NASCAR New Hampshire State Champion and multi-time Monadnock Speedway champion Barry Gray, of Belchertown, MA, sits fifth in the series standings and will look to garner his first Granite State Pro Stock Series win at his home track.
