Shane Farrar of Mechanic Falls, Maine is race ready for another season at Richmond Karting Speedway.

Shane has been keeping busy in the off season, “I have been wrestling every single weekend across the state. I wrestle for Oxford Hills Youth Wrestling. I currently hold the Maine State Pee-Wee Championship from 2013 and going to try to hold onto that title as I wrestle for it again April 5th at the Cumberland County Civic Center. I love wrestling it has been my life all winter.”

Shane and his pit crew will be extremely busy this race season, as he is racing for the brass ring. “My plans are to race full time in the Jr Boxstock division at Richmond Karting Speedway and going for a championship.”

The 2014 RKS Schedule this season has the drivers racing Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  “I like the schedule. I even get to race on my birthday weekend.”

The Friday night races, under the lights is always a favorite with the drivers. “I like racing at night under the lights because it’s fun and the sun isn’t beating down making me sweat. Racing with all the lights shining down makes me feel like a superstar.”

The drivers are getting ready for the season opener at RKS on April 27th, “Yes I am all ready for the season opener if the snow melts faster so that the track will be ready to. I can’t wait.”

So what will it take for Shane to win the championship this season? “To take the championship I need a good motor, good tires, and to race clean.”

The drivers at RKS, enjoy racing at Maine premier kart track, “Best part about racing at RKS is when it’s under the lights, it’s awesome. Also I like that my Mom and Step-dad and Papa and Bampie and siblings can come hang out with my at my pit pad. I like the popsicles at RKS too I get to eat them all day!!”

Sponsors are a big part of racing, from racing in pro-stocks all the way down to karts. “Family and sponsors are what make it so that I can race. I want to thank my mom, my stepdad for letting me have my go-kart look just like his race car, my Papa and Bampie, Norway Soft Serve, Crazy Sisters Redemption out of Bryant Pond, Shauna Lee Photography, and all my friends, family, and fans.”
