This race season Taylor has been racing in 2 different series at 2 different race tracks, “Basically the only difficult part is that we live so far away from both tracks. Richmond races every Sunday and Wiscasset is every other Saturday, so there is a slight break, but on the Saturdays I’m not racing Wiscasset, I’m back in the Mini Cup up in Kingfield.”

Racing in the mini-cups at Richmond Karting Speedway Taylor is racing the corvette body style.  “This car is the one that beat me for the Kingfield Championship in 2014 and Keith (my step dad) wanted to buy it at the end of the year, but at the end of the year I was diagnosed with cancer so we knew money would be tight. He ended up buying it and Darron (Burrill) and Keith wrapped the muddy girl camo themselves. I’ve always loved Chevrolet and my dream car is a Corvette, but now I am able to race one!”

With the corvette body style there is no spoiler or wing to affect the rear down force.  “At the tracks we race at we really aren’t going fast enough for aerodynamics to play much of a factor, it definitely doesn’t slow me down!”

Summer is now over and Taylor is back in school, so does what she learns in class help Taylor on the race track?? “If I have any homework at night that’s the first thing I do so it’s over with. After that if there’s anything to do to the race car(s) or anything to prep for the weekend I try to get that done. Geometry last year helped me understand a little more of how every little thing on the cars has to be perfect to make them as fast as possible because if just one thing is messed up that could slow you down.”

So what do Taylor’s friends think about her racing during the summer? “Most of my friends think it’s the best thing ever and a lot of them come to races to watch and support me. Not to brag but I’ve got some pretty awesome people behind me.”

With just a few race left in the 2016 race season can Taylor take home the championships this season at RKS and Wiscasset?  “Unfortunately not at Wiscasset. This was my rookie year there and I’ve had a best finish of 6th place, but I am currently sitting 7th in the points. At Richmond there is still hope of at least a top three in points. I’m in 6th as of right now but I’m only 100 points away from 2nd place. I had been leading but I had to miss a race due to prior commitments and it sent me way back.”

One of Taylors competitors on the race track is also her mom, “I honestly don’t think of her as anything but more competition when we’re out there. I’ve most definitely given her the bumper before and I do laugh when she spins, but it’s out of love.”
