Story by Chris Roy

Dylan Henry of New Gloucester, ME., is all ready for the 2016 race season at Richmond Karting Speedway. “It looks like a good balance that will allow me to run at Oxford too.”

There are both day and night races at Richmond, most drivers like racing at night under the lights and, Dylan is one of them. “Night!  It’s fun.”

The legends cars race the road course at NHMS and Thompson Speedway and Indy car is racing on the streets of Boston this summer. So what if RKS had a road course race on the streets of downtown Richmond? “Sign me up!  I think it would be exciting.”

Dylan’s father Ron Henry is currently racing in the PASS Modified Series and use to race in the ACT Tour. So what is next for Dylan after karts? “Not open wheel. I think my next step would be a Legend, then a Late Model or Pro Stock.  My dad says that it’s an easier transition instead of going to something else and picking up bad habits.”

Dylan main focus is being behind the wheel but, he is willing to turn a wrench or two, when it comes to working on the kart. “Yes.  My grampa and dad do most of the work, but I help too.”

Though Dylan is just starting his racing career, he has gotten some great memories. “The last race of 2014, racing side by side with Ben Burgess.  I end up finishing second, but it was a good battle.  Ben has become my on track rival, but we are friends off the track.  Last year I end up finishing second to him in both Championship Points and XXX Series Championship.  I am looking forward to getting back on the track with him this season in the Jr Sportsman.”

Dylan would like to thank his #05 Tem Sponsors –Ron’s Small Engine, KC Hamilton and Sons.
