Laquerre Dominates WDEV 100 at Thunder Road

       BARRE, VT – Veteran stock car racer Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier has been taking the young
drivers at Barre’s Thunder Road to school for five decades, and Thursday’s WDEV 100 was no different.  The 63 year-old won the NAPA Tiger Sportsman division’s second long-distance event of the season, making it a clean sweep of the 100-lap features in 2007.

ACT Late Model Tour Adds Oxford Plains Speedway Event on July 7

100-lap race to serve as final tune-up for $150,000 TD Banknorth 250

       OXFORD, ME – Oxford Plains Speedway promoter Bill Ryan has added a 100-lap American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car championship event to his race schedule on Saturday, July 7, filling a void created by a pair of ACT Late Model Tour events cancelled earlier in the week.  Ryan and ACT President Tom Curley agreed to organize the race following the announcement that events at Quebec’s Circuit Ste-Croix and Sanair Super Speedway were dropped from the ACT Late Model Tour schedule.

DENNIS DEMERS WINS FERGUSON WATERWORKS THRILLER AT THUNDER ROAD

       BARRE, VT – Stock car driver Dennis Demers of Shelburne came out on top of a thrilling 50-lap Late
Model division feature on Ferguson Waterworks Night at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday.  Demers recovered from a lap 2 spin, then drove through a disastrous crash on lap 41 to steal the lead from Dave Whitcomb of Essex Junction with seven laps remaining.

CARQUEST to Present Vermont Governor?s Cup at Thunder Road

BARRE, VT – CARQUEST Auto Parts will present the 25th Vermont Governor’s Cup, a 100-lap Late Model stock car race at “The Nation’s Site of Excitement,” Barre’s Thunder Road, on July 12.  The event is expected to draw over 30 race teams from northern New England, including some of the front runners of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship series.

Theetge Sticks to Plan, Defeats American Challengers at Home in Ste-Croix

STE-CROIX, QC – Donald Theetge of Boischatel, QC made good on a prediction that he would win the Challenge ACT 100 at Circuit Ste-Croix (Ste-Croix, QC) on Saturday night, the fourth round of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car series.  Theetge, who lives just minutes from the fast 5/8-mile oval located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, scored a popular victory after passing leader and perennial ACT Late Model Tour Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT with just 14 laps remaining.
