HUDSON, NH – Derek Griffith continued his stunning season, as the 18-year-old driver picked up his second victory of his career in the Gate City Classic at Hudson International Speedway.
Griffith led the field to green, with Matt Frahm matched to his outside. Mike Parks and Cory Casagrande made contact before the field completed one lap, with Parks spinning to the infield. One the restart, Griffith began to flex his muscles, jumping out to a quick lead, before series rookie Nick Boivin spun off turn 4, bringing out the second caution. The field would settle in for a long green flag run, until Casagrande and Jeremy Harclerode made contact on lap 41, erasing Griffith’s sizable lead. The final caution of the race occurred on lap 47, when George Helliwell and Mike O’Sullivan tangled off turn 2, subsequently ending O’Sullivan’s night.

HUDSON, NH – With the point battle beginning to take shape early, the Granite State Pro Stock Series will travel to one of the most unique tracks on the circuit, Hudson International Speedway, for the Gate City Classic, June 14.
Young Gun Derek Griffith leads the standings entering the fourth of twelve events on the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) schedule. Finishing in the top four in each race to begin the season, Griffith holds a slim two-point advantage over Barry Gray, and just eight points back to Larry Gelinas in third, entering the event. Hudson International Speedway is Derek Griffith’s home-track, but has yet to pick up a victory at the ¼ mile facility with the series, whereas Gelinas visited Victory Lane in 2014.

(Hudson, NH) – Derek Griffith Racing has a very busy weekend ahead, first the 18-year-old driver will try to maintain his slim Granite State Pro Stick Series (GSPSS) point lead as the series visit’s Monadnock Speedway for the first time in 2015.
The turnaround will be quick as the team will also travel to the “Nation’s Site of Excitement”, Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road Speedbowl for the first-ever 150-lap Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model race.
Griffith currently is on a hot streak and the driver hopes to continue that at Monadnock, he goes on to explain, “We have a win and a second place finish to start the GSPSS season, another podium at Monadnock would be great. I know we’ll have the car to do it. My Crew Chief Louie [Mechalides] always has a great set-up for this bullring.” (more…)

Winchester, NH – The Granite State Pro Stock Series will travel to Monadnock Speedway, May 23, for the Memorial Day 100. The Memorial Day 100 will be the third event of the 12-race season, and will be the seventh time the Granite State Pro Stock Series has visited the facility since 2013, running twice a season each year. The following is a closer look at the numbers of the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS), and Monadnock Speedway.
MONADNOCK SPEEDWAY NOTES:
-Monadnock Speedway opened on Aug. 13, 1971.
-Nicknamed “Mad Dog”.
-The historic track has seen such drivers as Jimmy Spencer, Beaver Dragon, Ken Bouchard, Mike Stefanik, Reggie Ruggiero, Stub Fadden, Dave Dion, and Robbie Crouch take victories at the Winchester, NH facility.

Gray and Parks round out podium
Claremont, NH – Derek Griffith picked up his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series victory in dominating fashion as Claremont Speedway opened up a new chapter.
Griffith, of Hudson, NH became a quick study in his first visit to the tricky quarter-mile oval. His first laps around the speedway were some of the fastest he would turn all night, and the quickest of the 13 cars that arrived. He also led second round practice as well.

Claremont, NH – Derek Griffith, the young, talented Pro-Stock driver from New Hampshire will be making his Claremont Speedway debut this Friday, April 24th as the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) makes its return to the 1/3 mile facility for 125 green flag laps.
Formally known as Twin State Speedway, Claremont is under new ownership for 2015 and is ready to set the stage for what should be an exciting event.
Griffith will be entering Claremont not knowing anything about the race track, “I don’t think I’ve ever been there, maybe when I was a little kid but I can’t remember” remarked Derek.
“This will be exciting for our MOM’s of Manchester/LCM Racing crew as Louie [Crew Chief Louie Mechalides] doesn’t even have any set-up sheets for Claremont. I think it’ll be a learning experience, that’s for sure. “ (more…)
