Derek Griffith Ready For His Second Florida Speedweeks

Derek Griffith (New Smyrna Beach, FL) – Derek Griffith, the young northeast driver will make, the more than 1000 mile journey from New Hampshire to New Smyrna Speedway in Florida to compete in his second Florida Speedweeks.

Griffith recently raced at New Smyrna in the Red Eye 100 in preparation for the 2015 Speedweeks event and brought home a very respectable eighth-place finish. “We really had a fantastic car at the Red Eye”, explained Griffith. “We competed with some of the best drivers on the East Coast and held our own, it was a good race and I think it’ll help us during Speedweeks.” (more…)

Entries Arriving for 2015 Season

GSPS22013 Series Champ, O’Sullivan, Among First Registered

Walpole, NH-    With the Winter Meeting, fast approaching, February 7 at the Racer’s Expo in Marlboro, Massachussetts, entries are beginning to file in for the 2015 season for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS).

 

After running part-time last year following the birth of his third child, 2013 Champion Mike O’Sullivan is one of the first to register for the new season.

Moltz, Granite State Pro Stock Series Celebrate 2014 Season

Manchester, NH-         The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) held the 2014 Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday night, January 10, at the Best Western Executive Court in Manchester, NH, where drivers received nearly $17,000 in contingency prizes and point fund moneys.

 

“Thrillin’” Dillon Moltz was the star of the night, as he celebrated his championship season in style, collecting his Championship trophy and point fund, as well as the Rookie of the Year for the 2014 season.  Moltz secured his first GSPSS championship by finishing 6th at the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.  The Waterford, Connecticut, driver picked up a win at Star Speedway in the NH Classic, to go along with his 8-top five and 10-top ten finishes out of eleven races.

Griffith set to compete in the 2015 New Smyrna Speedway Red Eye 100

New Smyrna Beach, FL – Derek Griffith, the standout driver from New Hampshire will travel to the Sunshine state to compete at the historic New Smyrna Speedway (NSS) in the 2015 Red Eye 100.

 

The Red Eye, is the recongnized as the first Super Late Model race of the new year and has a rich history of very talented drivers winding up in victory lane. Griffith will pilot his No. 12 MOM’s of Manchester/LCM Racing Toyota Camry in what he hopes is a tune-up as the teenager will also compete in the NSS Speedweeks in mid-February as well.

Granite State Pro Stock Series Releases 2015 Schedule

GSPS2Walpole, NH-     With the New Year just a few weeks away, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) has been hard at work in preparing for the 2015 season.  The result is an eleven-race, diverse schedule, with a return to two different speedways, formerly on the young touring series schedule.

 

The beginning of the 2015 will be under familiar settings, with a return to the Icebreaker at the historic Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) in Thompson, CT.  TSMP will be celebrating their seventy-fifth year in existence, and will run the Icebreaker on April 10-12.  This will be the third time in four years TSMP has been the opening act for the GSPSS.

Hunt for October: Championship to be Decided at World Series

GSPS2Walpole, NH-     The 2014 Granite State Pro Stock Series Champion will be crowned at the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) on October 18-19. 

 

Dillon Moltz holds a slim 16 point lead over veteran racer Larry Gelinas after 10 of 11 events, and a 17 point lead over Matt Frahm.  Moltz, driving the Brackett Mechanical/RB Performance machine, has quietly jumped into the lead, after finishing in the top 5 in his last four races, including a win at the NH Classic at Star Speedway.  “We are going into Thompson (Speedway Motorsports Park) with all guns loaded and not holding anything back,” Moltz exclaimed.  “We are going to go there doing what we’ve been doing all year.”
