Hudson, NH-      Brad Babb fended off threats from Barry Gray and Matt Frahm to claim the victory in the Hudson Hugger at Hudson International Speedway, recording his first victory with the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS).

Adam Norton led the field to green in his second race for the series in 2014, with Babb starting to his outside.  Babb would nudge ahead to lead the first lap, eventually clear Norton, and begin to pull away from the field.  Bobby Baillargeon, who was looking to grab his third straight Hudson Hugger win, bounced off the front stretch wall on lap 9, bringing out the first of six cautions of the day.  Babb jumped to the lead once more, as a good battle between Frahm, Gray, Dillon Moltz, and Derek Griffith brewed behind him.  Griffith’s day would begin to turn sour as his LCM/FEP Insurance Toyota brought out the caution on lap 37.  Multiple tries to complete the lap ensued, but the caution flew two more times, including a chain-reaction incident which sent Moltz down pit road, before the field settled in for another green flag run.

Granite State Pro Stock Series Added to Star Classic

GSPS2Walpole, NH-    The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) has added an eleventh race to their 2014 schedule, after accepting an invitation to join the Star Classic Super Modified event held at Star Speedway, September 6th.

The GSPSS will join the International Super Modified Association (ISMA), Strictly Stocks, Outlaws, and Roadrunners divisions at the Star Classic for 100 green flag laps.  The 48th annual Star Classic is a highlight on the International Super Modified Association schedule, as the 150 lap event has seen such historical drivers as Russ Wood, Bentley Warren, and Chris Perley .

“When Bob Webber extended the invitation to the Granite State Pro Stock Series, it was a no-brainer for us,” says GSPSS president Mike Parks.  “The Star Classic is a premier stop on the ISMA schedule.  To add the GSPSS to this event is a homerun for us and for Star Speedway.  It will give us a chance to put our product in front of ISMA fans, and a chance for our fans to see their product.  The Webber family have always been a stout supporter of our series since it’s inception, and we would like to offer the same support to them.”

Griffith found himself on the podium again after finishing in second place at Monadnock Speedway on August 9th. Derek rolled off ninth in the nineteen car field and quickly moved towards the front. The car was consistent and the driver, even more so.
Derek talked about bringing the No. 12 Mom’s of Manchester/LCM Racing Toyota Camry to a second place finish, “We had such a good car here at Monadnock. I love this track and we know the exact set-up we need. I was a little worried after we suffered that flat, right front tire but it’s just another example of the team working so good.”
