Doiron Kicks off the GSPSS season in Style

The Granite State Pro Stock series kicked off its 2019 season with a 100 lap event at the all new Claremont Motorsports Park Saturday night May 4th..

The event started with time trials and the Crazy Horse Racing fast time challenge which was won by Joey Doiron who’s Lap of 13.901 seconds topped the track record by a tenth of a second.

2019 Just Around the corner

   As racing season approaches, last minute preparations are what’s     happening in the shops of the Granite State Pro Stock Series teams. With the first race less than a month away at Claremont Motorsports Park in NH, cars are being finished, trailers are being organized and haul trucks are being checked.

In Vernon VT Josh Kings pair of race cars are almost ready to hit the race         track. “One more good day in the shop and we’ll be ready to go” said king while attending the Ice breaker at Thompson Speedway. “We’ll be ready to go for Claremont” he added. When asked about his 2019 plans he responded “we’ll see how the early part of the season goes and figure it out from there”. “If we’re running well we’ll run the full schedule”.

21 drivers took the green flag Saturday, October 20th at the New-London Waterford Speedbowl with two men from Connecticut ending up on top. Ray Christian III of nearby Uncasville, CT battled Ben Rowe of Turner, ME side by side in the closing laps to win at his home track. Devin O’Connell of Madison, CT overcame early adversity and multiple trips down pit road to finish 16th with barley any body work left on the #43 to clinch the 2018 series championship.

“This is what we had circled, last year we came hear and ran really good, but we wanted to come here and win really bad.” Christian III said. “You can’t right a better story, [Crazy Horse Racing] has been like a second family to us, we just love those guys and we couldn’t have done it without them. Starting sixth on the field Christian III saved his stuff in the early going. Eventually battling with Ben Rowe for a multitude of laps Christian pulled away after Rowe’s car seemed to loosen up after a caution with 15 laps to go.

Championship night is at the New-London Waterford Speedbowl

Championship night is at the New-London Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, CT is this Saturday, October 20th. It is shaping up to be one of our most exciting races of the season. The final race will be a traditional GSPSS format of 100 laps at with time trials to set heat placement.

Devin O’Connell of nearby Madison, CT must finish 14th or better to capture the 2018 series title if second in points Joey Doiron of Berwick, ME [30 points behind] wins the race. All eyes will be focused on the #43 of O’Connell and the #73 of Doiron as not only are they the championship contenders, earlier in the season they finished on the top two steps of the Podium for the Triple 35’s with Doiron the overall victor and O’Connell winner of the final segment.

Eddie MacDonald Wins GSPS at Thompson Speedway World Series
WALPOLE, NH.

19 drivers entered the series event on Friday of the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. At the end of the 50 lap feature the familiar #17ma of Eddie “The Outlaw” MacDonald took the checkered flag. “My guys worked hard all practice long” MacDonald said. “We had to change a clutch earlier and we pulled through for the win.”
